Definitely needed to replace our old one..it was flopping around and not holding in place. This product fits the bill so far, had it for a week and it's sturdy for all us wood stove users, this is working out like a charm. Even made it work for our double pipe.

A good damper for the price
It's a good damper for the price that I paid for it.Saying that the rod needs to be redesigned as the spike and bump makes it hard to install. I solved the problem by cutting off the spike.
