Fantastic product.. Does everything I need and more! Not sure why anyone is having an issue with it unless there knowledge on computers is nil to none. I highly recommend this to anyone who is on the go all the time like I am!

It Works as a Blu-Ray Writer. I have written (burned) several CDs, CDRs, CDRWs, BDRs and BDREs - all without any errors. Being a USB portable BD drive, it is small and light weight. It does seem a bit flimsy and delicate but, with careful use, I expect that it will do the job. Windows 7 recognized the drive right away.Now, here's the "BUT". The drive package is supplied with a software disc with Samsung's name on the label but it contains software by CyberLink.When I installed the software, I found it to be some of the most obscure and invasive programs I have ever seen. (I've been in small mini and micro computers since before there was an IBM PC or even a Radio Shack Model 1 for that matter.)The CyberLink software is extremely obscure in it's workings. It is forever telling me that I must buy their paid-for package. The BEG SCREENS are much too much. Especially with so much trouble working with their poorly designed software. The "BEG" screens appear to have received much more attention than the software utilities.To top it off, in their HELP files it plainly states that it does NOT SUPPORT ANY BLU-RAY FORMATS. Only 4.7 GB and dual layer DVDs. For a package that is furnished as utilities for a Blu-Ray drive I find that incredible.In SUMMARY, The drive is OK. Windows 7 recognizes the drive and will write to a disc that it reports to have a 25 GB capacity.You (and I) will have to look elsewhere for Blu-Ray software utilities. The CyberLink path is NOT the route to follow.Otherwise, the drive is recommended.I would suggest that you may do well to save your money and buy the drive WITHOUT the software - you can buy the "free" M-Disc separately.

These disks make excellent bird scarers. I hang the 25GB M disk blu-ray blanks on fishing line above my tomato plants and green beans.They keep the birds away 100%. Not sure what the black box that came with it is supposed to do. I taped it to the dash of my 1989 Toyota Tersel and use it as a cup holder. It's not very good for that though.

No coasters so far. Caution only for the bloatware on the bundled CD.

nice portable bluray player and burner. and can't be sure once if ind out i'll update but its rumored these bluray xl burning drives might be able to read a 4k disc, playback might be a different matter though.
