MudGear Premium Compression Socks - Mens & Womens Running Hiking Trail (1 Pair)

Nov 2018 update: My husband and I have done many Spartan races and training and truly depend on these socks.... my husband completed a trifecta this summer and SWEARS by them. We have had zero issues with ripping, holes, etc. including very rocky/muddy races at Blue Mountain, Tri-state NJ, etc. 5x a week training means we have a bunch of them on hand. I recommend not drying them in the dryer- ours have held up wonderfully. Great job Mud Gear! Will be getting more for us this holiday season for sure!Just ran another Spartan race in these. Feet remained dry and protected, as did my legs, through mud, sweat, water, rocks, and tears. These socks are the BEST. THANK YOU MUDGEAR!Update- still love them and am doing another race with them soon. Remain awesome socks!Bought these about a month ago in prep for the Spartan Race at Blue Mountain, PA. I bought them specifically to prevent any injuries from the rope obstacles (Traverse and rope climb) since they have the extra padding at the back of the sock. First, the socks are super comfortable. I've never worn compression socks before and I was really surprised at how comfortable they are. I began wearing them for training the day I got them to ensure they would work for the race. I ran a ton of miles in them on the road, trail running, through streams, up hills, tons of burpees.....and they performed great. They did not hold water and were not heavy after getting them wet. They did not allow fine particles (mud or dust) to get in around my feet. They never even slipped down during all the training.Race day was last Saturday. They performed extremely well. They proved their worth with the traverse and rope climb. With the traverse, I simply put my legs around the rope and pulled. My calf got a little warm from the friction but I had absolutely no mark whatsoever on either calf. I saw someone else do the same without these socks and got a terrible rope burn. The rope climb the socks helped when coming back down. The rope wrapped a bit around my leg but the socks protected me. Again, they also held no weight after getting wet, did not allow the little particles of dirt through to my feet even through the tons of mud and muddy water that was present, and were super comfortable. My feet and calves felt great after the race.I inspected the socks really well after washing them post the race. You can see a little bit of wear at the back but are otherwise in fantastic shape for the abuse I have put them through.I would highly recommend them and I'll be buying another pair or two.

I used these for Tougher Mudder Full (about 11 miles) as they were recommended by my boss. Her and her sisters all use these for their mud/OCRs and seemed to speak highly of these. They have finished the Spartan Trifecta and regularly run Tough Mudder and Warrior Dash, so I took their advice. I've run the Warrior Dash a few times and always got my shins scuffed by the obstacles. These socks provide adequate protection from abrasion for the shins, but my knees got minor cuts/scrapes. They don't really absorb water but rocks/mud will get inside eventually. I manually washed/rinsed them a few times, and then threw them in my washing machine. They still smelled a bit like swamp, so I threw them in the wash a second time and they smell like new.A tip that my boss shared with me was to tuck my gloves into the top of the sock when dealing with rings/bars where gloves may be too slippery. She also said that they can be used to store gels/chews.

I bought these to wear for a Spartan Ultra Beast (30 miles) and they performed very well. They protected my legs and feet with no cramps. They never slid down and quite honestly, almost forgot I was wearing them. Like others, I was worried about thickness/heat and water retention. No issues at all. These are great, BUT I did get worn out heels on both socks after just one long race. I expected these to be a bit more durable and hoped to wear these on future races. Had the heels not burned out after 30 miles of mountain running, I would've rated these 5 stars. That being said, these served their purpose and went above and beyond my expectations.Edit*****MudGear customer service was very responsive to my initial durability concern and I have therefore edited my review to reflect both the company's motivation to please it's customers and to reflect the greatness of these compression socks.

Shipping was slow or I was really excited about receiving them. Don't care to remember because I'm so happy with them!! After getting shin splints when returning to road running last year, I said to myself I would buy compression socks. After shopping around and finding boring looking ones and expensive ones(50.00 a pair), I looked on Amazon and found these by MudGear! I bought two sets. One for training and another for race day. I took them out for a run and hike in preparation for the Into The Wild Trail Run. I hiked and ran for 12 miles with a noticeable amount of fatigue reduction! I wore them for the rest of the day while eating and playing with pets, etc.. The next day I woke up feeling great! I didn't pay the price for running hard!! I'm a believer!

These sock are simply amazing. I half calf cramps running 10+ miles and the compression helped a ton. What I think really sets this sock apart from others is the support of the manufacturer. Originally I purchased Medium sized based on the low cut versions I have. The mediums I ended up putting a hole in the heel. After purchasing a new pair the manufacture sent me an email as a "reoccurring purchaser". In the end of the email they asked if I needed anything just to let them know. I went ahead and told them why I purchased another pair so quick. Within an hour I received a message asking for pictures of the socks I put a hole in. The next thing amazed me. I received 3 emails within 15 minutes. The first was the rep letting me know that they had told their boss. Their boss emailed me explaining that the hole can be caused by not putting the sock on properly. He sent me a link to a youtube video on how to properly put the sock on... It makes total sense. He he told me that he would be taking care of my new pair of socks. The last email I received was from Amazon saying that my account had be issued a refund. I was amazed at the service. I am a part of a large GA obstacle course race group and I shared my story with them. Many started purchasing the socks and love them as well. I highly recommend this for the quality and for the customer service.

The quality appears to be excellent and size L fit my UK 13.After a couple of outings they are extremely comfortable and stay in place.Pricey for a pair of socks but experience so far is very positive.

I found these socks very good and fit quite well. I used them right away for a spartan sprint and super in one weekend. Good compression and the fit was tight. My right foot was sore from a previous race and these gave me the right amount of tension. However when I was pulling them on for the second race I got a bit of a run right above my right calf. Had not pulled that hard and have used compression socks previously so thought this was a bit odd. Will contact their customer support about the issue as I have more races to do.**Update**I contacted the company by email and received a reply the same day. Excellent customer service. Replacing the socks right away and provided a video with instructions on how to properly put them on. Note: This is on their website as well though I ordered from Amazon and had not seen it previously so if you want to see it go to their website and it will help a lot.

These were perfect for my spartan race, tough mudder and other smaller mud OCRs. I use the same pair (after thoroughly washing the mud out) for all of my races because I never felt my usual foot pain at any point in my races. Definitely a good pick-up, worth the price! I used a medium for a size 14 inch calf (and 13.5 on the left because of an injury) and both legs felt supported. I love the extra padding on the sole of the foot and along the back. My only complaint was that they didn't have the grey/black or orange(looks like red on my computer screen)/black socks in my size. I'd love to buy another pair but they are currently out of my size.To help you with trying to find the right size, I'm 5 8 but i don't think that matter too much for the socks; I am usually a size 8.5 (US) for athletic shoes because I like the tighter fit and usually take a wider shoe if available, otherwise I use size 9 (US)I also paid $46 for them not really worth it for the current $89 (or whatever) price. If they sold 2 pair for that price maybe but not for one pair.

I have run 2 Spartan OCR races in these and they performed great. They stayed in place perfectly and didn't cause any issues. I docked them 1 star for price though. It still seems like a lot of money for 1 pair of socks. Maybe it's just me.

got my socks for the next tough mudder race and noticed a defect on the socks right away without putting them on. seemed like the sock threading was coming apart in the calf area I could see the pad. was very disappointed as I did a one ship to get to me and now I have sent it back for a refund. Not sure if it's worth 50 dollars to buy.

Very comfortable with support through the arch and ankle. Would have given a 5 star but double layer cushioning on toe and sole of sock does not extend over the heel, where I wear my socks out first.

Bought these for my mother who has numbness in her feet due to a back injury. She LOVES these socks! It gives her feet a bit of extra grip for walking and driving. They are warm, comfortable and good quality. Will be buying her another pair soon! Thanks for a great product!

I recently bought the MudGear compression socks, and I absolutely love them! I wore the socks around the house and they are very comfortable. I also got to wear the socks for the Spartan race in the summer of 2018 and they were so comfortable, lightweight, and made my calves feel amazing. Also, when I went through the muddy obstacles the compression socks didn't weigh me down.

Used these in my first OCR and they are great! I also use them when trail running to help protect my legs from ticks, stinger bushes and such

Mein drittes Paar von MudGear, für mich die beste Kompressionssocke. Für Spartan Race sowie Halbmarathon geeignet. Habe auch andere Marken ausprobiert, aber immer zu MudGear zurück gekehrt. Socke sitzt fest am Fuss, rutscht nicht. Perfekte Kompression heisst wenigere Krämpfe für mich.

I bought these socks to gear up for the Spartan Race Beast in Quebec City.They did the job! These socks are very comfortable and offered a great calf protection all along the race.I wouldn't hesitate to refer these socks to a friend.
