GREAT VALUE = GREATER taste
I got tired of buying oatmeal every 10 days or so. So I ordered this, Didn't notice they are 'steel cut'.. That means they are little 'chunks', somewhat like Post Grapenuts used to be.. It takes longer to cook.. But the beauty is you can control the softness of them, from being pretty mushy, to somewhat chewy.. You can soak them overnite, for faster cooking.. I use a microwave on power 5 (1/2 power) for 6 minutes. The last minute I add frozen blueberries. They are tastier than regular 1 - 3 minute oats, which are usually 'smashed' I guess. From what I read, these are more healthy for you, because they are less processed. And 7 pounds will last me quite a while. The packaging makes sense, cause any other way, would have added expense. I store these in a heavy duty large plastic screwtop container, which originally contained weight'lifting protein.. Or you could transfer the oats to a quaker oat cardboard container. Keep as well sealed as possible to avoid moisture. I very much recommend this.

Delicious & great value for the money
My family eats A LOT of oatmeal. I used to buy organic oatmeal from the bulk food section of our local supermarket, but Covid-19 put an end to that, so I went on a search for a reasonably priced alternative. Enter Bakery on Main Happy Oats. We love them. Love that they're organic, love the taste, love the quality, and love that the order comes in two 7.5 lb bags (did I mention we eat a lot of oatmeal?), so it's less packaging than if we were buying multiple smaller packages. Ah yes, and we also love that it's a subscribe & save item, so we pay less than the listed price, and I don't have to worry about forgetting to order it. Really, I can't say enough good things about this product. If you're into oats, these are the ones to get!

Fine, Versatile Oats
I purchased these oats to improve the quality of the food my family eats. Everyone in my family suffers from a chronic condition or disease. Years of pills and medications haven't gotten rid of their problems. After beating my own ulcerative colitis and gallstones with diet and lifestyle changes, I decided to have a go at beating their's too.Pros+ Fresh, no staleness or bugs of any kind.+ Large quantity, has lasted me for months with a family of 3, I still have one unopened bag out the two I purchased. Easier to store than a bunch of small containers.+ Excellent taste and consistency in food, easy to cook with.Cons+/- About the same price as organic oats at the grocery store, maybe slightly cheaper.I've used these oats in number of dishes and they've all came out great. Freezer granola, overnight oats, ground into oat flour to make oat cakes or banana bread; everything tasted excellent. These oats are great hot or cold.

Convenient and tasty
I've purchased this through subscribe and save for a few years now. This is a great product. I enjoy steel cut oats and the bulk size is convenient, cost effective, and earth friendly. I haven't had any of the issues other reviewers mentioned, perhaps I have a better Amazon distribution center or they corrected their issues. One thing to note is that the as of this date, 1/2/22, the second image is out of date and you should ignore it. The third image is valid. For those looking for cooking instructions, see image 5.

Good oats, great taste, but not much texture to them.
Good oats, great taste, but not much texture to them. Good price for steel cut oats. The oats (at least the bag I received) were cut up pretty small. When cooked, the oats break down a bit and the texture is pretty minimal. I cook the oats simmering in water for 5 minutes. Even that small cook time leave the oats pretty mushy. Good tasting.. just the texture is softer / less chewy than what I have from other brands.I actually prefer the Quater Quick Oats. I can cook them in the microwave and I prefer the chewier texture. So, it's really a texture preference to which you prefer. These oats are very good and the price is excellent. Worth giving a try to see if you like them.

Awesome GF Oats in Bulk!
I used to buy oatmeal in bulk from work until I found out I had a sensitivity to gluten. I started buying the 1 pound bags of GF oats, but I wanted to go back to buying in bulk. I am so happy I stumbled upon this brand! I eat oatmeal every day, so I go through a lot, but this is better for the environment in bulk, it's cheaper, and my tummy and skin are happy! I make overnight oats and eat it cold (I live in Florida and the thought of hot oatmeal after the gym is not appetizing), these oats are delicious and perfect for my breakfast!

Better than grocery store oats
Every morning I put one third cup of these oats in a bowl, add three quarter cup water and a pinch of salt. I cover the bowl and leave on the counter until next morning. Next morning I microwave for two minutes, stir, and microwave for another minute. Meanwhile I prepare tomorrow’s bowl. I tried grocery store steel cut oats but the tasted roasted. I prefer the natural taste of Bakery On Main oats, and they are less expensive than grocery store oats.
