The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Vol. 2 - manga

I personally really liked this manga. It gives you a different spin on the story then the anime, as it gives you more details. If you have seen the anime and loved it as I did, I would argue that you should get the manga because you dont get everything in the anime. You can also get the fealing that your getting into the writers head a little when you see how its different from the anime and how things where changed.Also, If you havent seen the anime I would also say that there are things in the anime that are not in the manga. So even though there similer, one vershion does not truly replace the other. If you do choose to read the manga first I recomend starting from vol.1 as this is technically a review for vol.2 so im going to place a link to vol.1 here. This manga adaptation for "the Suzumiya Haruhi" Series is quite bellow expectations.First the story is a bit changed, nothing troublesome, but it changes the way things occurred in the original novel...The character design by the mangaka is not that beautiful, the art is not worthy the story, but i think the artist improves with the story.But the most troublesome is the English translation... I know it's very, very difficult to translate a so different language and culture story into another, but I've read many others english adaptations of other mangas, and those went better. I think it about this volume, I have others yet to read, let's see what waits for me...The overall evaluation is 3 and half stars - unfortunately it's not available - the original story has a strong influence in the grading, because the story is so good that even with these flaws, it's worthy every cent spent.

If you have already watched the anime and still need your fix of haruhiism, check out this book. it is the manga version of the series and still contains the comedy and drama the anime does. there are a few scenes that change on the manga but it still keeps the same storyline the anime series has. It's a must buy for any Haruhi fan.

The development of the manga just keeps on getting better. More mysteries more problems more action and more on developing relationships towards one another. This is a great manga and condition of the manga was good.

The initial story comes in only six chapters, and that ends in this volume. While it's almost a decade-outdated series, it's timeless. The writing is flawless and consistent.

This second volume of the `Haruhi Suzumiya' manga finishes of the adaptation of the first of the light novels. This volume sees Asahina and Koizumi give proof of their claims and tell Kyon just what Haruhi means to them. Meanwhile Haruhi herself is in a foul mood and this could lead to bad things for the world as a whole.Again this second volume of `Haruhi Suzumiya' is very good in its own right and is well worth five stars, it is however still not a patch on the original novel. The storyline does get interesting in this volume and has some very funny moments as well. The art is still good and the more philosophical parts of the story are also good as well. This is turning into a very fun manga and I will definitely be continuing to read it.

Edges a bit bent but that's expected other than that no problems.

This is a great book from a great series. It has a great storyline about aliens and espers and has simply brilliant illustrations. It's brilliant, perfect for all manga lovers.
