I wanted a general purpose way to display my Yoga 2 Pro (Windows 8.1) screen output to our Samsung 55" TV.Hookup was very simple; pairing and activating was just as simple. Clear and easy to understand instructions were included in hardcopy and are displayed on the TV prior to connect. I was up and running in less than 15 minutes from opening the box. Video renders clearly on the TV (audio comes through fine too). I also tested with various videos, metro and desktop applications. When selecting the mode to mirror both displays, Windows temporarily modifies the resolution of the notebook to match the TV's resolution. Original notebook resolution is restored after disconnecting. This unit does everything I wanted it to do. Update: An added bonus that I didn't realize when I purchased this is that its also compatible with our smart phones. We have an HTC One (running Android 5.5.2)and a Samsung S3 (running Android 5.3). Both can connect and mirror their screens as well. It seems to take a few attempts to connect on the Samsung, but eventually it connects and once connected it does not drop.

If you buy this, update the firmware as your first step. Hopefully you verified that your source device supports WiFi and that its drivers are current. If you do both of these, then this little gadget works like a dream. I attended a webinar a little bit ago and having the sound and images channeled through my home theater speakers along with the video being presented on our 70" television was amazing...I love online classes now that I have this as I can sit in my living room and just watch and listen to the lectures from the comfort of my living room sofa. What else...I didn't experience any latency per se. The display of the mouse pointer is not great, but this may be a function of how I extended my desktop to this display. Anyway, I love it for making presentations, attending webinars or online education, or just sharing content from my PC with others. Truly a great innovation!

480p is watchable but only really good for watching PBS meet the press. lol Anything faster pace then that you will be annoyed by the choppy picture.Kinda funny how 354 5_star reviews and ths problem is not mentioned. Any chance all the reviews are bogus?

Prefectly quality, value, and customer support. For older computers that are unable to connect at 5 GHz, internet speeds are often slow and highly variable. This device overcomes that deficiency by allowing connections at 5 GHz which often results in much higher speeds than the more congested 2.4 GHz band.

Works well as advertised. Took me awhile reading the instruction, in the end it pays off. Plug this dongle into your TV set, use the screen as Airplay Mirroring. Effective and easy to use, prefectly unit for a purchase. I would highly recommend.

i'm fairly tech savvy and for the life of me i can get the signal to initialize after following all of the steps. buy at your own risk

Trash a lot of lies are being told

After much frustration in trying to update, and figure this little thing out, I found that I could download the update, and perform the update to the Display Dongle from my Kindle HDX with success. The only problem I had was that the update screen told me to wait and it would take me back to the initial screen it didn't. But after waiting a period of time, I though was sufficient, I went back into update to check the version of the Push2TV and it had successfully update. Also, by following the instructions on the Kindle HDX itself, I had absolutely no problems mirroring from the Kindle Fire HDX.First, I didn't have to add the Display Dongle to my network, in fact when I connected to my network, the connection to my Kindle Fire HDX was disconnected.Second,, it's much easier to understand and follow the Kindle Fire HDX instructions on the Fire itself.For those that want to know the exact steps I used on my Fire, this is what I did to make a successful update and connection:1. Plug in the Push2TV into the television as instructed. i.e. (a) Plug HDMI from Push2TV into HDMI plug on Television (b) Plug USB connection either into provided DC connection or into the USB connection if one is on your Television.Some TV have 2 or more HDMI connections just be sure to set your TV to the correct HDMI connection if you use more than one. I have Direct TV so I simply unplug the Direct TV connection and plug in the Push2TV HDMI connection into the one I use for Direct TV.2. On the Kindle Fire HDX, access the web and go to [...]. There you will click on Get Support which will take you to various downloads, etc. Click on Version 2.4.46 (current version), and download to your Kindle Fire HDX. In order to download you will be asked various questions, including name, email address, date bought, serial number of the Push2TV. I found it helpful to write this stuff down in case there is an update in the future. Click Download - it takes only a few seconds to do this.3. On the Push2TV, press the side button long enough to start the white light on the unit to flash. Your TV screen should tell you to open a new browser (do this on your Fire), and enter the [...], That will open the Push2TV main screen and you will see three choices, tap on the update screen. There you will click on browse for the update, which will browse your Fire HDX for the update, you will have a couple of places to look for it, click on either or both links to find the update you downloaded from the web. Then click on the correct downloaded link and press update. The unit will update, but my experience it left me waiting longer than it should however, the TV screen told me it was updated. so you can go back to your main screen on your fire. If you want to check and make sure your P2TV updated go back into your download menu as in #3 above and you should see the correct update version: i.e.2.4.46.4. From your Fire home screen, swipe down and click on the settings icon. Tap on Display and Sounds. Tap on Display Mirroring. There you should see your Push2TV listed under Display Dongles. Click on the Push2TV listed under Display Dongles and your Fire should be displayed on your Television screen. I put the P2TV on it's side (where the antenna is - flashing light end), placing the fire in a close range, and I have had no problems with distorting either the sound or the movie.5. At the point the Fire is mirrored on the television screen, I go to Amazon.com, because I am a prime member all the videos under My Prime tab is free. Click on a movie, follow the prompts and enjoy...prefect Luck.
