Navigation is difficult.
I purchased the Kindle version of this book. I bought this particular version of the Complete Works because it comes with free audio, which is excellent to have handy when reading Shakespeare. However, the Table of Contents only exists for the first part of the book--the tragedies. To read a particular play that's a comedy or history (or any of the sonnets)--in other words, 75% of the book--you have to click onto the last "chapter" listed--Titus Andronicus--and page through to find the work you're looking for. What a HUGE pain! If you're buying this on Kindle, might want to find a better version, unless you plan to simply read the book cover to cover every time.

this looks like a partial copy from an ebook (see pictures)
Surprised by such a scam via Amazon. I could deal with the ultra-small print, lack of page numbers, etc, but the fact the book is titled the "complete" works of shakespeare and only contains some sonnets and a couple of plays (even contradicting the TOC, which lists just 5 plays, its an unusual scam. Meaning, assuming this is "value" priced to begin with, copying/printing all of the plays in black & white microfiche (like the bits that were included) may have cost the "publisher" another $1-2.Actually, this looks like a partial copy from an ebook (see pictures), so it really is a matter of extreme laziness (I mean, if you are going to do it, at least copy the entire thing, not just the copyright dislaimer and a few sonnets!).

THIS IS NOT COMPLETE. BUYER BEWARE!!!
This edition quite clearly states that it is the complete works of Shakespeare. But it is NOT. It only contains Hamlet, Antony and Cleopatra, The Tragedy of Coriolanus, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, King Lear, MacBeth, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, Timon of Athens and Titus Andronicus. AND THAT'S IT. Amazon, you need to pull this vendor off of your site. This is false advertising. I'm so ticked off, because I want the full works of Shakespeare on my Kindle, but now I don't know who to trust because they may be pulling the same scam.

"Works" is a poor choice of words for the ill-formatted and distasteful selection ...
This is for the Complete Works of William Shakespeare as published by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform. All I have to say is thank God this cost as little as it did because it's a colossal piece of trash. Some bloke with a printer and a degree from community college must have put this together. "Complete" is a blatant lie void of effort towards correction, "Works" is a poor choice of words for the ill-formatted and distasteful selection inside, and frankly I'm not sure Shakespeare would have wanted anything to do with this. Would be returning, but honestly I'd feel better in my soul watching this book burn so that's what I'm going to do with it.

Love the book, hate the small print
I use to have this in several books. While I love Shakespeare, this book is very large because all his writings are in the one book. For those of us with poor eyesight it may be difficult to read even with reading glasses. The print is very small.

A bloody good read!!!
I especially love the sonnets! But his classic works never seem to go out of style; even in current contemporary re-telling. His inspiration from Greek and Roman classic theaters are well translated and read like a continuum for current classical studies. I also look forward to reading some of Shakespeare's other works which I had heretofore not seen.

The Works as a Reference Well
This was the kindle edition. I found it remarkably versatile to refer to when away from the home library, or as a play is unfolding on television following along to see how close to the original the modern production comes. The table of contents lays out the Sonnets, then the plays, such that one can navigate to each scene rather than having to page through the entire play. But, I found to search the contents require turning each page to get the play you want, which was cumbersome.

Perfect gift
This was a wonderful Christmas gift, and has kept the recipient entertained for hours. I like how compact the works are, but they are definitely in big enough print to avoid eye strain (assuming you don't require large print books on the regular!). I would recommend this to any Shakespeare fan, or anyone looking to brush up on the classics.

Find It If You Can
Very disappointed with this rendering of Shakespeare's work. not divided into paragraphs for each character and no working index. Unless you want to read it from cover to cover you will find it very difficult to find the beginning of a specific play. Word search also fails to work. Gave up after trying to find "The Taming Of The Shrew" and failing miserably.

Adding the Titles of The Plays to the ToC Would Help
The Table of Contents does not include the Titles of Shakespeare's works so, if you're looking for a play you need to know the location of Act 1 Scene 1. - An Irritating Ommission and one, I'd have thought, would be easy to fix.

Very well presented on Kindle
Given a couple of reviews here reference the Kindle version being in need of "tweaking" I must report that all necessary tweaks seem to have been done. I find this version faultless, and at just 49p superb value. All the plays are listed in their various divisions (Tragedies, Comedies etc) and the Poems also, with the Sonnet's numbers. Tapping whatever is required brings it forth. The presentation of each play is excellent, very well spaced. The font is in two colours, blue and black, which aids the indexing.150 fine black and white drawings complete this fine edition. Look no further if you want a complete basic copy of Shakespeare's complete works.

It is very well made and looks very impressive. We bought the book as an 18th birthday present for our nephew, a budding Actor, and he was extremely thrilled to receive this beautiful book and very honoured to have A full copy of the bards work.

A nice presentation item for a book person.
It should be noted that I have bought this as a Christmas present for an English Literature student so cannot comment on its internal presentation or similar. It remains un opened . However, the presentation is excellent and the overall "feel" of the book is right. This particular student will likely use in depth texts for study and presents such books as this on her shelves as ornaments in a collection. She has bought similar books in the past.

Utterly superb
Beautiful book within it's leather bound covers, quality of paper superb with a smooth feel which is a delight to the hand and clarity of print, easily readable, all contents fully listed with page numbers on page 5. Names of characters above each item of speech makes for great clarity and at the end of the book a full glossary setting out the modern English equivalents of virtually all Elizabethan words. I can not praise this edition highly enough and I find some previous reviews an utter mystery.

Poor table of contents. Laid out by a blind monkey.
The table of contents is utterly useless. It is hard to see what play is which. Cheap but put together by a blind monkey. Save your money and get an edition from a reputable publisher. I wish I had.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare - Hardcover - Barnes & Noble
(The book's content itself won't be judge here) Technically speaking, the book is better than I had thought. The details in gold are magnificent, a truly wonderful art, what makes the book looks even more beautiful in the bookshelf. The material of the hardcover as well as the font size are ideal, at least for me. I recommend this product to everyone who likes a great story and a even great looking book!
