Wasn't a favorite
First, the Kindle addition is terrible! It is so broken up, lousy proofing with spelling and grammar. Amy has come west after seeing an ad from a church that men need woman to marry and be help mates. She finds her man Oliver terribly ill and nurses him back to health. All of a sudden Amy is thrown into situation after situation with town thugs. Amy is a very independent, out spoken woman and has no problem telling bad people off. It was an interesting story but way too drawn out and choppy. Being it a clean romance, it came off too sappy for me. And the two of them sleeping together for necessity was a bit too unrealistic when they don't even tell each other they love each other until the end of the book. Way too many sub plots in the book. I like the author but didn't care for this book.

Sweet Clean Romance
Although this is a clean story, there were some things I didn't care for. Amy Louise went West because she saw a message from another Church where men were looking for women to "marry," Amy and Oliver are sleeping together from the get-go. First out of necessity with them sleeping with Amy under the covers and Oliver wrapped in another blanket. Before to long, they are both under the covers. They are planning and hosting everybody's wedding but their own. Amy is introduced as his housekeeper instead of his fiancee. In chapter 6, "Amy looked at this man she had come to marry," but thereafter, they refer to it as an arrangement or a deal they had, as if it was on a trial basis. Also, there are many name changes. First it's Aunt Selma, then it is Aunt Caroline, to name a few. There were quite a few places where sentences didn't make sense because words were missing or worded backwards. This book could use some editing. The story has many twists and turns and will keep you interested.I received an ARC in exchange for my voluntary review.

Loved this book
This the second book by Carol Colyer that I have read and I found this book to be as interesting as the first one. Amy is a very determined young lady with a good heart who often speaks her mind about things regardless of how others may feel about it I like that she is outspoken it's what gives her the strength to go out west and marry a man sight unseen. Oliver is a man who believes in write and wrong and he believes in helping the Apache even though during this time giving any help to Natives could get you harrassed or even killed. The people around him don't take a liking to any of this so Oliver wants a companion a helpmate so he sends for a mail order bride and it's a good thing to. Amy is a very determined lady and she wont let Oliver send her back even to keep her safe these to are ment to be but they will have obstacles to tackle before there happily ever after.

Dixielee in Review
A fantastic book, absolutely loved it. Once I started reading i couldn't put it down. I love a good western romance movie and this book would make a good one. Amy may not have known what she was getting into when she moved West to marry Oliver but, she was a fighter and found love instead of a partner. This is a wonderful Christian romance with a lot of western action. I hope you refer it to friends and family. I also, hope everyone enjoys reading this book as much as I did.

"You Might Like The Look Of Him, But He's Spoken For."
While I haven't read a great number of these western romances; and/or the mail order bride genre, I'm still amazed at the bravery these women display. The pressure on Amy to" find a man," drove her into the absolute unknown. I can't even imagine how Amy felt, when she meets Oliver for the first time, and finds him nearly on death's door. Without hesitation, she just jumps in and does what needs to be done. "Love Finally Takes Control," is the second western romance that I've read by Carol Colyer, and I enjoy her writing style. This romance features strong characters, excitement, adventure, and a bit of intrigue. A clean romance and a rousing read. I received this book as an ARC and I volunteered this review.

Amy-Louise & Oliver's story
Amy is bright, willing to try new things, and speaks her mind (not good where she originally lived). Oliver is talented and kind, but a very lonely farmer since leaving his scouting position in the army where he worked closely with Rav, an Apache friend. The town basically turned on Oliver since a well-off member of the community blamed he and Rav for getting his brother and that troop killed/ambushed. They really arrived too late and the town wasn't big on lovely Indians anyway. Well, aside for the no quick marriage and playing house (no sex/just sleeping together) which is not general practice, there was a lovely story of courage, getting to know each other, change, bringing community together and helping those in need which worked to change both their lives for the better. An HEA and extended epilogue to boot! Completed story--enjoyed so much!

Love gains control in spite of the odds
This is a second book of Carol Colyer I have read. I really enjoy her stories and characters. Amy Douglas answers a letter to become a mail order bride. She arrives at Goodacres and finds Oliver Truman sick in bed with his dog Wolf as his only company. Amy starts nursing Oliver and getting things in order. Oliver recovers with help from Amy and his army scouting buddy Rav. Amy finds out that Oliver is not very popular in town because he is friendly with the Apaches. Amy is a take charge no nonsense type of lady. She goes about changing the hearts and minds of the locals. With help from Rose Cutler and her nephew Josh. Josh uncle Javision Cutler dislike a Oliver and blames Oliver for his brother’s death. There are some twists and turns but love wins in the end.

Sweet and heartwarming western romance!
This is the second book I read from Carol Colyer and I loved it as much as the first one, maybe even more!I loved the characters! Amy Louise is a strong, outspoken woman, who doesn’t care what others think and wants to do things right.Oliver is a kind and compassionate man who has been hurt and wronged. Amy seems like sent from Heaven but how can he keep her while putting her in danger too? This is a story full of adventure, suspense and heartwarming romance!I loved it and it kept me engaged until the end!I recommend it to anyone who likes western romances, very worth the read.
