Decent Versatile Sound Machine / Projector
Although a bit pricey, this is quite a versatile sound machine. There are 28 sounds and there is a wide variety of them. I couldn't detect any looping in the sounds so there is a pretty good randomness feature here. You never get really great speakers with sound machines but this one's is good enough to be able to distinguish the sounds and get a reasonable range of volume. The machine supports headphones as well. There is a timer function for 30, 60, or 90 minutes and a memory function that remembers last sound, last volume, and last timer setting. That's a nice feature. Other machines make you cycle through sounds to get back to the one you used before. There are multiple light functions, and how they look depends on the cover you use inside the plastic dome. The machine comes with two of them - a pure white one and a black one with a starry sky on it. If you use the white one, you get a basic light that can operate as a night light. If you use the black one by itself you can get a projection of stars in various color projected on the walls and ceiling. The night light function is a bit unwieldy to use. To change the brightness or go to tricolor you have to hold the button down for two seconds each time you want to change it. A short press turns the night light off. The projection function has a different button. Short presses of the button cycles through 7 colors. Pressing after those gives flashing and fading 7 color displays. Long press shuts it off.Unlike a lot of sound machines, this one has the option to use a 18650 rechargeable battery. I happened to have one for a tactical flashlight so I tried it and it works fine. A plus is that the machine will recharge the battery if you connect it to power with the battery in it. Since these batteries are not that common, it would have been nice to include one with the unit since many folks will not be familiar with that type of battery.Overall - a good sound machine with a greater number of sounds than many machines, a wide variety of lighting and projection options, and a rechargeable battery option. I really view this as a combination sound machine and starry sky projector since you can use those functions separately. If a battery had been included I would have given this 5 stars.

Must have w/ 2 kids +
My son has been using this for almost a year now and we decided to get another for our daughter recently. We have 2 under 2 so there are nights where one baby cries, screams etc and it doesn't wake their sibling due to how good these actually are at drowning out disturbances.Highly, HIGHLY recommend

Plug does not work for unit and no battery!
Not sure how this was a 5 star review with so much bad with mine. Package was day late. Instructions were so small to read that my rabbit could read them. Battery not included. I could be wrong but did not see that the battery was not included in the description. Plug does not work...used an old one. Volume goes to low to high level with no adjustments. Cheaply made. Retuning today!

Many different settings
The media could not be loaded. This baby sound machine is great! Perfect for a noise machine for babies or even older kids or adults. There are so many different colors you can chose or even a mixture of all of them. The sound we use is the fan sound and it does sound like a fan. They have 28 different sounds so you will be able to find something you like. It is small and can travel with you. You could put this in your purse or diaper bag with no problems. Great way to block noise to help your baby sleep!

Not the best speaker, but still one of my faves!
The media could not be loaded. Ok, so I did notice with the sound that the speaker does get distorted at the highest volume with some of the sounds but that is my only gripe. Now that that’s out of the way, let me tell you why I love my little “Flying Saucer” sound machine!First off, look at it, it is so darned cute and what really makes it cool isn’t just the shape but the fact that it has that light in the top that allows you to beam different colored stars and a half moon on your ceiling! The only thing that would have added to this cool space theme is if one of the sounds sounded like a starship command deck. Believe it or not, that is a sound option on my Google Home and I love it. It would have been cool if they’d had something like that on this. With regards to the sounds that you do have, there are many to choose from and I thought they were all pretty good. None of them sounded particularly terrible to me which is a rarity with me and sleep machines. So to control this, you can either use the included micro usb cable and power block, or you can use what they call an “18650” battery, which I am not at all familiar with. I opted for the cable and power block. One thing I do like about this is if you unplug it or even just turn it off, it remembers your sound selection that you were last listening to, which is nice. The same with the color. If you unplug it and plug it back in then use the light button to turn it in, your RGB color option will still be set to the last color you were using. With regards to the lights and sounds, they are completely independent of each other so you will need to use the corresponding buttons to turn each feature on and off. Also there is a power button and a timer button in the back. If you turn the machine around, you will see the power button right beside the USB port. Hold the power button down until the pin light changes from green to blue, then you can use the buttons in the front. The machine also has three timers built in, which are controlled by the timer button in the back. All you do is tap it to change your timer setting, of which there are 3 (30,60,90 minutes) built in. Tap it a fourth time to disable the timer. With regards to the sounds, there are 20 of them. Multiple fan sounds, rain and, babbling brook, and ocean sounds, cricket and frog sounds, as well as a train on a track (no horn or bell sounds) a ticking clock, and a fetal hearbeat sound. All of which were acceptable enough and some that I absolutely love. I prefer the fan sounds, the lower in tone, the better for me, and this one delivers on one that I especially like. You can control the volume with the plus and minus buttons in the front and you even have a play/pause sound button as well. With regards to the lights, there is quite an assortment. You have single colors like red, blue, green, or you have combo colors like red/green/, red/blue (my favorite), and blue/green. You even have a red/blue/green setting. Then there is the option to make the red/blue/green blink on and off, change colors rapidly like at a disco dance, or they can slowly change colors. If you do not want colored lights, they have a simple white light too. Seriously, they added a lot of options to this little machine and it looks really cool too! There is even a feature that allows you display stars and a moon on your wall and ceiling but that requires you to unscrew the center piece. When you first take this out the box, you can see the moon and stars in the black background but below that is a white cover. If you do not remove that, you won’t see the stars and moon on the ceiling. All you have to do is unscrew the plastic ring, remove the top cover and then take off the white one then put the moon and stars one back on and then screw the ring back on to lock it in place. Once that’s done, the moon and stars will project onto the ceiling and wall. I will say, it was a little difficult to unscrew the plastic ring, just remember to turn it counter clockwise.Overall, this is one of my very favorite sleep machines!! There is a nice selection of sound choices and while the speaker isn’t the greatest, it works well enough. I love all of the light options and the timers are adequate enough for me. This isn’t a heavy machine but it does feel like decent quality. All in all, I absolutely recommend it!
