Like night and day
I thought my hair was falling out and turning to straw because I was getting older until I had my water tested by the state and it was incredibly high in Cl, Mg, Ca, Ba, etc... It was so off-the-charts hard af high a lab person called to talk to me about it. My landlord wouldn't add a water softener, so I figured I was SOL. I've only been washing my hair once a week the last year because my hair was so dry/straw-like and was falling out (I had to wear bandanas and beanies most days). I've also been dealing with chronic eczema since I moved here.I did a little research and tried shampoos and conditioners for hard water. They were expensive and I didn't notice a difference. I found this filter, but was skeptical because I'd read online they only remove Cl and figured the other elements were contributing just as much to my hair issues, but wth did I have to lose, so I bought a filter anyhow. The maintenance guys had applied way too much plumbers tape and I couldn't remove the shower head, so I had to wait a couple of months for a friend to visit (I recently relocated and don't know many people here) to help. He had some issues with the removal, but the installation of the filter and shower head onto the filter was a cinch. There was no leaking and the water pressure's still the same.I took my first shower with the filter about an hour ago and used my normal shampoo and conditioner. It was like night and day. When I applied the shampoo it didn't instantly dry out and tangle my hair on contact like before the filter. The conditioner made a difference instantly and didn't have to be left on my head for 10 min. I styled my hair quickly and with minimal fuss like I used to be able to do. I'm so thrilled hair's soft and manageable again!

Saved my hair
Incredibly hard water VS incredibly dry hair... this was super easy for me to install - took 5 minutes after I used a wrench to loosen my shower head. Everything after that was just hand tightening to install.Three washes with a clarifying shampoo and my hair feels so much different. Thank heavens.

Does the job, but not confident about the sturdiness.
I tried to replace the filter in my prior, similar unit, and it broke, internally. While the plastic seems sturdy, I use it in the shower with a hand held shower head. While I have not, in several years, experiences it breaking off, I always expect it to.On the other hand - since I started using this several years ago, I no longer have itchy skin when they change the water chemicals, seasonally. This is a great relief for someone who suffers from such a problem.

Its going to break in 2 and be useless
I used the unit for about 7 months. It was fine at first. In fact it was only as I was installing my 2nd replacement filter that the PLASTIC rod that attached the incoming water supply lockring to the unit's main body started to wobble, leak, and then snap off completely, rendering the unit useless. It seems that nobody out there can engineer a shower water filter that's made of plastic and will last more than a few months. They are all so cheaply made and designed to fail like this one.

Night and Day Difference!
These filters make an incredible difference in our shower water. I've been using these filters for 6 months now. I had a water test done on our well water and it is extremely hard, with high levels of iron, magnesium and silica. If I wash my hair with it, it is a stiff tangly mess. It is somehow dry and oily at the same time, and feels heavy?? It is so odd. This filter makes a SIGNIFICANT difference in our hard water. I almost couldn't believe it. I replace the unit about every 4 months; it will start to get clogged from the iron debris. When I popped it open to see what it filtered I was stunned. It is absolutely worth every penny.

Easy to install and does the trick
I liked this particular design because I couldn't lose height in how far the shower head came down.Super easy to install and seems to do the trick!

The PERFECT TSA-compliant Toiletry Bag For Plane Travel
This bag is perfect for holding TSA-compliant bottles of liquid/gel items; I easily fit all the items I wanted to bring with me for my most recent trip, with room to spare; for comparison, I had to leave some items behind the last trip when I used a Ziploc bag, and it was still almost coming apart at the seams :P This is very much worth the investment even for occasional plane travelers in terms of saving money on items one may have to buy at their destination (or having items burst in checked baggage - big air pressure changes are not good for containers holding liquid, so I've learned :\ ) plus the added convenience and relief by having one's fave beauty/grooming items handy on trips :)
