Sturdy, secure & functional
For the most part these Bento boxes are great. I love that there's 5 compartments, plus the utensil slot which doubles nicely to hold small, slender items like a cheese stick, fig newton cookies, etc. The downside is the size of the compartments. The box itself is too big to leave any extra space in my kiddos lunch box for a drink, so on days when I send him with a hot dog (his preference!), I cut it in half (wrap each half in a small strip of paper towel to make it easier for him to pull the hot dog out without it falling apart) & place each half in one of the small compartments, which frees up the large compartment for the juice box. The same applies for trying to include a Go Gurt (yogurt). The Go Gurt is too long for the utensil slot & too big to fit in a small compartment so I fold it in half & place it in the large compartment w/the juice box, hence the need to cut the hot dog in half.I'm mostly able to make all my food choices fit in the provided compartments, and I'm sure it's impossible to make the "perfect" leak-proof, kid friendly lunch box for every meal scenario, so as far as lunch boxes go, I love how sturdy this is. I can trust that if my kid decides to sit on, stand on or throw his lunchbox - as kids will do - it will survive! Unlike the plastic meal prep containers that I've used previously (& still use to prep the whole weeks worth of lunches that I just transition into his Bento box the night before/morning of), which become cracked on the corners & the base cracks from being kid-handled, these will definitely hold up to my 7-year old boy!As for other reviewers finding it difficult for their little ones to get the lid off, initially the suction of the lid to cups was very strong, but I opened & closed it a few times to loosen it up and my kiddo has had no problem getting the lid off & put back on by himself. He does have a habit of trying to force things, and this lid will only go on one way b/c the lid is formed to the cups, so I had to teach him to line up the corners before trying to force the tabs closed, but that also does not appear to be a problem.I love that you receive 2 of these for the price. Online the pink one looks more red, at least it did on my phone when I ordered it, but for now my kiddo doesn't mind pink so I won't have a problem using this in rotation w/the blue, but I'd love to see a 2-pack in either gender neutral colors or gender specific colors so we could choose to their preference.Overall this is the best lunch box I've found to use and am pleased w/this selection!

DON'T USE HOT WATER ON THIS AT ALL!
My kindergartner and second-grader LOVED these boxes - they were easy to open and shut and they loved all the compartments. I could send apple sauce without it spilling over, and also fruit like raspberries or blueberries wouldn't get all smushed and leak everywhere. But I read all the reviews and never put them in the dishwasher in hopes of keeping them working longer. Unfortunately, they only lasted about 2 months of daily use. I hand washed them every single time, but used hot water because...ya know. We're in a pandemic and germs and all that... The seal gradually became warped and as a result, harder and harder to close. My kindergartner told me it takes him too long to close the lunch box (he has to stand up and push his whole weight onto it) that he was losing valuable time playing after lunch. These are far too expensive to have this limited amount of use/convenience - i hope the technology improves because they were so great while they lasted. What a waste. We've been able to successfully use two or three other lunch boxes that aren't seal proof either but at least I can wash them in the dishwasher and they're about a third the price. We're trying a few of the other ones available on Amazon (Bentgo and Mincoco) to see if their little hands can open/shut with no issue and if they can be washed without problem.

Seem great!!
So far so good!! Only used twice so far but seems like it’s perfect! I have to put in my daughters lunch box sideways to fit, but the ketchup didn’t leak! It is a little tricky to get the kid off but she has teachers that can do that in class. (She’s only 2). The only prob I have is hand washing will get annoying after awhile. It says that it’s dishwasher safe but several people have left reviews that it warped in dishwasher so I’m trying to be safe. I also love that it’s a 2 pack for this price! This way I don’t have to make sure I hand wash it every night before the next day.

Not just for kids!
I've been using these bento boxes religiously since I got them back in August. They are AMAZING!!! I'm a very picky eater and often times I don't know what I feel like eating. These boxes allow me to have a variety without a million container pieces. The seal is really tight and because of that, there are no leaks. It's perfect for portion control, which is why I got them. You can also fit so much food in these things! There are times when I can't even finish it all. I use them 5 days a week, hand wash (mainly because I don't have a dishwasher), and they are easy to clean. The middle compartment are where the spoon and fork go, but if you opt not to use them, it's the perfect fit for a string cheese.Get these! You will not regret it!

Beware the dishwasher!
I was so excited this came in a 2-pack in pink and blue as my 2 daughters love the colors pink and blue. The portion sizes are perfect. It was leak proof. I had gotten compliments from school staff on the girls’ beautiful lunches. THEN my mom put the lunchboxes in the top rack of the dishwasher and now the top no longer fits correctly. I had been hand washing them because I had been skeptical about the dishwasher safe claim but in trying to help out she put them through the dishwasher. She said she looked at the bottom to make sure it had the dishwasher safe symbol and since it did, she didn’t hesitate. Although I was able to forcefully put the lid on, it’s skewed and not flush with the container and probably no longer leak proof. I’m worried my 6 and 7 year olds will not be able to attach the lids when they finish their lunch at school since it was difficult for me. As a single mom and teacher on a limited budget, I’m always looking for quality products and I was really excited about this product being a winner.Would I recommend this product? Yes, absolutely if you’re ok with hand washing. don’t run it through the dishwasher
