AutoExec AUE10057 GripMaster Car Desk Birch Finish with Built-in 200 Watt Power Inverter and Printer Stand

I was window shopping on Amazon and I came across the AutoExec Car Desk, which is the perfect addition to making my work life easier! I read all the reviews. Some good reviews and some complaints, but this desk still held my attention. I heard some say it was hard to pull out and the others that said it rattled. I decided to contact the company and get some questions answered. The most important question would it fit my truck with a high center console? Well, the owner and their customer service dept. were quick in responding to all my questions. I sent them the car seat measurements and they gave me a thumbs up. Concerning the the desk quality, the mahogany wood finish is beautiful It looks like it came with my car; matches perfectly. As to some people saying it's to hard to pull out; mine is fine. No problem what-so-ever! Second, I have NO rattling. The seat belt keeps it snug with no movement while driving. The extra work area just makes my life easier. I like the clip addition so my papers stay where I want them. The storage for files is such easy access instead of reaching around to the backseat or the floor. The storage area underneath the slide out writing area is large enough to provide access to anything else I need to have close by. I am totally satisfied with this product, the AutoExec company service dept and Amazon for carrying their products. Some say it's a bit pricey, but I would buy it again because it's a great tool to make my work life easier and it has eye appeal. I'd be talking to a customer and their eyes drifted over to the desk. A great conversation starter. No, I am not paid by the company. I just like to be organized and this is a big help on the road. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I'm a salesman and my SUV is my office. I purchased the AutoExec to help with organization and to provide a stable work station for using my laptop. The AutoExec is solidly built and fits comfortably in SUV's front passenger seat. The AutoExec as two desktop surfaces. The top one is fine, it's the bottom one that is the cause of the two star rating. It's almost impossible to pull out. I literally have to reach inside the unit and pull the desktop surface from behind and force it to open. I checked the instructions to to make sure I didn't miss something, but there's nothing you need to do to this unit in order for it work. I even tried a dry, colorless Teflon lubricant and that didn't help. I'm probably going to return the unit and look for an alternative.

This has been extremely helpful for the line of work I am in and helping me keep things organized. The absolute downfall of this item is what I have to do every time I put it in the truck. The stock photos show it in an F150. Which is what I have. What they don’t tell you in the description is that you may have to raise the seat to the maximum height so the slide out drawer clears the center console and anything you may have in the cup holders.It stays buckled in place good, and def keeps me more organized. The anti slip area is sub par. Why only cover 2/3 with the anti slip. Couple of complaints there. 1. My laptop still moves around quite a bit. 2. Because it’s only partially covered my laptop is often unsteady because of the uneven surfaces.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE this desk. It makes a big difference in my work as a health care worker in the field. I love the inverter that allows me to use my laptop on the internet (along with my personal iphone hot spot)Dealing with Amazon has always been great. Including with a delivery problem with this desk. USPS lost it, by sending it to the wrong place. After a "chat" option we decided that Amazon would send another one. The new order came on time, the first one came a few days later. Amazon sent an email with the shipping sticker. I printed it and dropped it off with the delivery company as requested.When the replacement desk came, I installed it in my car. I had to put about 4 inches of "riser" (two telephone books covered with a throw cover) under the desk, only because the gear shift in my Kia Rondo was too high to clear the gear shift with the pull out desk. Even with the "riser" it is very secure with the seat belt. Oddly enough the pull out desk rests nicely on the gear shift when its in park...for a little more support. Not that its needed. The pull out is sturdy and is close enough to comfortably write on or support the laptop for typing.I coupled the desk with a head rest organizer that holds my current patient's folders before and after visits. When I park in certain neighborhoods, the storage is great for my work Lenova Think pad computer. It has a small lip along the bottom that helps hide what's in there. I lay a spiral notebook on top and the computer disappears. Perfect.My car looks a lot more neat now, and I'm so glad to be organized now. No folders or notebooks or computer sliding to the floor during sudden stops.

Using this for a work station as a home health nurse, works very well, I did have to put a larger rubber pad on top of station, but with that everything stays in place pretty good except for a notebook. I am able to chart on my iPad in my car when I pull over between patients. It seat belts in so it does not slide around. Made my job easier, portable so when I want to drive with passengers on off time, can take of out seat quickly.

Husband's job requires he sits in his vehicle 12 hrs/day... he was planning to try to rig something up to organize papers, laptop and other essentials for his job. Knowing I can find most anything on Amazon, I searched and found this. He's thrilled with it. I asked him questions based on other reviews: No rattles and pull out desk stays in place but is easy to pull out. The storage underneath holds a lot and there's a lip that keeps them from falling out! It cannot hurt the seat as it is a smooth finish and rounded (no sharp edges).Note: His vehicle is a F150 Lariat... the pull out desk needs about another 1.5 inches height to clear center console. Nothing a mat to boost it up a bit won't fix, as pictured.

I have been looking at this unit for over a year. I should of bought this a long time ago!! I was concerned about the price and the quality. This is a very well built unit, I purchased the one with the slide out. This has eliminated the frustration (and the searching of things in my passenger seat) while doing paper work in my truck, I was so tired of balancing my laptop on my "lap". This will pay for itself in no time at all. Highly recommend.

Totally helped me with my work. The slide-out table gave me lots of surface to put my notes. I'm left-handed, so could only make partial use of the desk -- but for right-handed people, this product is a must-have!
