Great tire
Great tire at a great price, holds the dirt well and gives the necessary added control on an up and down cross country course.

Great tires for trails! UPDATE 07/19
I just installed these tires on my wtb 27.5 wheels. I pumped them to 40psi front, 45 rear and took them out for a ride at my local trail. Immediately I noticed the cornering was better than the continental cross kings running same wheelset and tire pressure. I felt more confident on descents and attacked the ascents. I have more control at faster speeds and in cornering. I was able to be more aggressive on the loose dirt berms and off camber slopes. I’ll probably run my psi on both wheels at a lower pressure to see if that enhances the aggressiveness of the mountain king and hopefully I see an improvement of the confidence with the cross kings at a lower pressure. I will update after my ride results.Update as of 07/19/2020, I ran these tires at the lower psi (20 front/25 back) and they responded really good in loose dry dirt, and packed in hard dirt. The tires were good on cornering due to the treads on the edge of the wheel being deeper. I'm running these on a hardtail and found them to handle pretty good. I purchased a set of Trail Kings for my 29er enduro/trail bike and they handled really well on a couple of black diamond trails Lyons reservoir just past Mi-Wuk village, CA. For wet or hero dirt I would suggest the Der Kaiser's because they have meatier treads.

Continental 29er mountain bike tires
Continental and Maxxis make the best bike tires, period. I also own and use 700x25 Continental Grand Prix 5000's and Continental Gatorskins tires on road bikes.... awesome bike tires. The Race King tires are perfect for my 29er, hard tail mountain bike. Race King tread is ideal for hard pack gravel or dirt on rail trails. Race Kings are also much faster than typical knobby mountain bike tires on asphalt and concrete. These tires would probably not be ideal for single track style mountain bike riding, but are perfect for cross country gravel riding and rail trails. Race Kings are easy to install. I use these tires with tubes, but Race Kings can run tubeless. Highly recommended for 29er mountain bikes. A+

Nice, difficult to get an aligned seat, use soapy water & take them to 41psi if warbly on the rim
Seems like a decent tire the Trail King 29er, couldn't afford another Mountain King this time around. Good tread for front, real nightmare to mount this tire. It is a nice tire but, took me over 4 hours of constant work, the tire would seal nicely but appeared deformed, re-seated many many times, at length I used soapy water on the rim and inflated to 41 psi, after a few more tries eventually the tire sorted out. Pumping up a MTB tire 20 times in one night is a bit much. If I had thought to use soapy water firstly... My Maxxis Aggressor was one & done, same rim no issues whatsoever with mounting or seating. The Continental has excellent seal and looks really good on the bike. The writing on the tire is all silver. It came cable tied which might have contributed to the difficulty mounting the tire though I gave it 2 days open and never had this sort of tire mounting issue before with a modern MTB tire so, gotta tell ya that was a disappointment. Really a wonderful thing though, new rubber. if I were a bike pro mechanic I would have gotten it right the first time. I used 100ml of sealant, we will see how it does. WTB which doesn't run well through thin injectors.

Like riding on the tire, it's the widest I can get on the bike
I like this tire and it replaced a narrow tire on the rear of my mountain bike that had a very flat profile and was somewhat narrow. I had an older version of this tire on the front so that's why I bought another for the back. I don't really ride assertive/fast but I can feel that I get a bit more traction and the tire being fatter than what I had I feel a get a slightly more cushioned ride. And even though it is on the back it does have a rounder profile than what was there and it seems that just maybe that helps with turning. Hard to tell about that because I did some other mods to the bike as the same time I installed this tire.It was a bit difficult to put on the rim. Not the hardest one I've ever put on but not the easiest either. So it goes, just meant I had to really concentrate on what I was doing and use the really big plastic tire irons I have instead instead of the little puny ones I seem to always get in the package when I buy tubes. BTW, one one I bought was for a 26" rim.

Grip is great for both pavement and hardpack.
I was surprised how much better these grip the road than my old tires. They give me a bit more confidence when cornering, even when the road is wet.

Repeat Buyer
I like these tires a lot. I've put them on my kids bikes and have just gotten them for my own. We ride real trails in the Colorado Rockies and these hold up and work well. They have a great blend between aggressive knobs and smooth/low rolling resistance. The side walls are pretty tough as well.
