An excellent and comprehensive book on dinosaurs. This makes a really fun and interesting coffee table book and has generated a lot of interest with guests. Have also given this a gift to young neighbors. I have a collection of 3D printed dinosaur skeletons that this book makes a great complement to, describing each of them in detail.

Book is absolutely beautiful and deserves 5 stars. The packaging of the book, (a very heavy book, loose and sliding around in a box) completely destroyed it. I would love to have a copy of this book, but not sure where to get one that would come appropriately packaged. 1 Star for packaging

Smithsonian does it well with DK printing. This is definitely the book I was looking for as my definitive guide to evolution of plant and animal life on Earth. The book guides us through the entire history of the earth, with each chapter representing the subsequent geological periods. The text is well written for the lay person, but children may need assistance. The pictures and drawings are just superb. Well worth the money!

This book has so much information and amazing imagery that it will keep you busy for a while. I bought it for my kids but often find myself flipping through the pages mesmerized by the majestic creatures that roamed our planet millennia ago. My kids absolutely love it, and we have fun reading about paleontology, dinosaurs or the age of the planet and origins of life. This book can inspire kids and I hope they keep enjoying it for a while, as it can be interesting to all ages. DK did not disappoint and this is another masterpiece from the Smithsonian worth purchasing. The quality of the paper and print is excellent and the cover design is very aesthetically pleasing. I recommend this book as a gift to yourself or your kids of all ages, especially if you have any interest in paleontology and dinosaurs.

It has a lot more in it than I expected it to !! It's exactly what I was looking for.

My 17 year old son loves this book. He loves books and dinosaurs in general, but this book is very captivating for him. Gorgeous gold leaf cover, beautiful balance of illustrations and text. If you are on the fence, GET THIS!

Nice and in-depth book on paleontology, not ideal for small kids but a good quality and well illustrated book for adults.

This was brought as a special gift for my son as we both love the world of prehistoric creatures. Very beautiful illustrated with not to much heavy information, just perfect for kids that are at the reading age to understand whats being written. Overall a fantastic book.

Fantastica......I was hesitant initially because of the price. Curiousity took over and I'm glad it did. There is probably no better book out there like this one. Also, it actually does look good on a coffee table and inviting you to grab it.

The book had over 400 pages of prehistoric life. It had tons of facts and pictures of fossils. It really felt like travelling back in time just flipping those pages.
