I decided to buy this cork mat instead of the PVC mats following my yogi friend's advice. I like it! I could sweat a lot yesterday and today it doesn't smell bad at all. To my knowledge, cork does not need to get cleaned up as it is anti-microbial. As horrible as my yoga and flexibility (I just started yesterday), several people commented on my mat and the design as well.From my yoga instructor, 3mm is the standard mat thickness for yoga as 3 mm is good for doing postures and advanced drills. I think Valka yoga also has a thicker version as well (5mm), so I might buy that one as well after trying this one for a while!

The most amazing yoga mat I’ve ever owned. I used it for the first time in a Yin class and I was shocked at how soft and grippy it is. It will be the only brand of mat that I buy or recommend to my yoga students from here forward. I can’t believe you plant a tree for every mat sold, that is truly incredible. I would love to see bulk discounts for yoga teachers as I’d love to buy more for my class.

For years we have used Manduca Mats for our hot yoga practice, never thinking there could be something better...well there is.This cork Yoga mat is for anyone who wants to reach the next level for their practice.To understand fully how this mat works, you first have to understand Cork!Cork contains suberin, a waxy, grippy substance that is released when wet. So, when you start to sweat, the grip actually increases. The more you sweat in your downward dog, the gripper it gets."what about if I don't sweat"...... No Problem! Just mist your mat with some water. Even just a few drops will start to activate that natural cork grip. It's lighter than most mats, has way better grip for my practice. It's eco friendly, Antimicrobial and it feels nice on my feetsies!I would and do recommend this product to my fellow Yogis.Namaste.

Love this yoga mat so much I got a second one for when friends visit . I practice Bikram and hot vinyasa, as well as non hot yoga at home.... i sweat buckets and this mat stays grippy underfoot . Best yoga mat I have ever purchased, and I have gone through probably 50 in my day ! :)

Its been only one month with probably 6 times used indoors and the colors of chakras are fading. Withing next month its just going to be cork yoga mat.Also the design for Chakras is incorrect!Don't waste your money buying this product, look for something else

I treated myself to this mat and I’m so glad I did. $60 seems a lot for a yoga mat but it feels expensive and durable. I love the way the cork feels during asana. It is pretty heavy compared to a traditional mat but it’s worth the extra weight.

This mat has exceeded my expectations! It is my first cork mat, and I’m a cork convert! The elephant artwork is absolutely stunning, and I anticipate it will be the talk of the yoga studio.The cork feels so nice to the touch, soft and supple, with a natural earthiness that I find very grounding. It’s grippy when it needs to be, and has no problem with a sweaty workout or yoga set, and it’s naturally antimicrobial!I’ve used some sticky/sweaty mats in the past, a downfall of the cheap synthetic options, and this is grippy yet I don’t have to hold one side of the mat down when I’m getting up out of a plank to keep the mat from sticking to my forearms.Durable, natural, environmentally conscious, comfortable and absolutely beautiful, all core to my yogic philosophy. With this mat, I’m able to practice yoga how nature intended. And if that’s not enough for you, they also plant a native tree for every mat sold!

The design is beautiful and the cork is velvety soft. It feels wonderful to the touch. I like the longer length, but definately wish it was thicker. I enjoy doing a bit of yoga, stretching & other mat exercises on the mat, but unfortunately 3mm is just not thick enough for my joints. Unfortunately the thicker Valka mats were not available in my country & they also lack a design. Not to mention the price. I actually prefer the heavier density of TPE than this squishy rubber. I feel that it not only provides more support for joints, but i personally prefer the firmness for standing poses. However, I wanted a mat that was more eco conscious & also durable (I can't yet comment on the latter).I already knew that cork was slippery when dry. I spray with water before use and that works well, but even over the course of 30mins, it dries up & then i start to slip. I sweat profusely, but not so much on my hands & feet, and in the cold months i sweat a lot less, so I must rely on a spray bottle. The rubber grips the ground perfectly. It's a bit heavy, but still easy to transport. I like the antimicrobial properties of cork. It dries very quickly, is low maintenance & doesn't stain when it gets wet. I love the feel of cork, am not afraid to get sweat on it & like that it shouldn't get smelly.I'm not sure I'd buy the same mat again simply because it's a too thin. That's also why I gave it only 4 stars.

I’m pretty fussy and a bit of a perfectionist so have bought and been gifted quite a few yoga mats over the years, in the hope of finding the perfect one... some were too thin, so my practice was uncomfortable, some were too slippery so I felt insecure and off balance, some smelt toxic - what’s that all about?! A friend told me about cork yoga mats so I did my research and the Valka brand stood out. I knew my mat would be coming to me in the UK from the USA so I was prepared for a long wait... but it arrived within 3 days! The packaging was gorgeous, the mat is incredible and a tree has been planted somewhere because I purchased this! I chose the elephant design and it’s gorgeous plus the ink is non-toxic, bonus! The mat is really soft, lightweight and just stunning. The underside is really grippy and doesn’t move, even when coming out of half splits! Being someone who sweats a lot, the mat gets more and more grippy throughout my practice. Can’t fault this mat! Thank you :)

I received the mat very fast. It is great to use and the material feels really comfortable. The design just adds to my yoga experience. Would definitely recommend as an eco friendly mat and great as a gift.
