A fantastic, sturdy bud trimmer, bargain priced to boot.
I bought the 19 inch bud trimmer to trim cannabis buds, which is now legal in Vermont. This is a very well-built machine. The plexiglass dome is very sturdy, as is the stainless steel catch bowl and the whole system comes literally ready to use.The machine comes with a razor sharp cutting blade already installed, and when you open the box, this will be face up. Despite having been warned, I managed to cut myself shortly after opening. This is the sharpest blade of its type I have ever seen. You will probably hear stories about these machines chewing up the buds badly, and yes, you can do that. But if you want a really nice even trim that doesn't completely clean all of the trichomes off of the bud, just give it 10 turns to the right followed by ten turns to the left and you should be very close to perfect.I rough trim each bud by hand then use this trimmer to give a final uniform trim. The trimmings fall into the stainless steel ball bowl and are rich in THC and very suitable for either smoking or making edibles. My machine came with three different hand trimmers.... a very fine spring loaded nipper, a small fine-pointed trimmer, and a larger, more sturdy cutter to take off the really big stems. It also came with a nice no-slip rubber pad upon which the trimmer will sit and not move while being cranked.Overall, I am very pleased with this machine in every way. It was very well packaged, has a spare razor blade and a wire whip cutter for dry materials, and if I didn't know what the price was, I would guess it would sell for somewhere between $200 and $300 easily. High quality throughout, and high value.Hints:Don't overfill the trimmer. When your buds are covering about 50% of the trimmer surface go ahead and process them. This takes less than a minute. I suggest 10 turns to the right, 10 turns to the left, and don't be tempted to make them into an overly tight trim. Also, you don't have to turn the handle very fast. Just a nice steady circular turning will cause the razor sharp blades to spin right up, since there is a very sturdy gearbox between the handle in the cutting blade. This will easily cut your trimming time to a third or even a quarter.

Actually worked very well and did a great job

Time saver but takes some practice. Semi-Wet trim only.
I found this bowl trimmer to work really well, but there are several little tricks I had to learn before i got the groove down. Once i got everything figured out I was averaging 3-4 pounds an hour. There were no instructions for assembly which was frustrating.First off- do not even attempt to trim dry bud in this trimmer. They will get destroyed.I found this bowl trimmer worked the best when buds were 50% wet / 50% dry.Too dry and buds got destroyed from the fingers, too wet and the trim was not as nice and buds stuck together inside the bowl.Although frustrating at first, I now believe this trimmer was worth every penny. It literally saved me weeks and weeks of hand trimming. You just need to play around with the moisture level of your bud to find that happy medium. Once you do you’ll be happy with this trimmer. Also, when i found the perfect moisture level of my bud to work the best inside the bowl, there was literally zero hand trimming after. I did have to buy drying racks to further finish drying my bud after the trim.

Strong, fast, efficient, what a time saver
It worked so well, I ended up with a bit more trim than I expected. I turned the handle for different amounts. I started with 20 turns each way and then dropped to 10 each way. It was all wet trimming, about 2 hours after the wash. Everything came out looking professional but a tad small. But it was fast and I'll use the trim for bubble. No loss of product and very, I mean extremely easy to use.

Best purchase I made all year
Can't believe how much suffering I endured before buying this. Trimming is an awful experience. Sure it's all fun and games for the first hour. But the second hour? The tenth? When my neck is cramped and my hands hurt and I just want to be done but there's going to be plenty more tomorrow or next week.Big plants full of bud should be exciting, not a scary reminder of how much work is coming up. This bowl trimmer brings back that excitement. It does a perfectly fine job trimming, I've got no complaints with the end product for my personal use. I wish I had bought this years ago and I can't believe I ever hesitated at the price.

Great Device, but lacks instructions and explaining
This unit is huge first of all. Consider the smaller units if you don't have the space. Only instructions I received were how to use it, but there are several extra parts in the package. No explanation on how to assemble the unit. I know it seems king of intuitive, but they have a blade for wet trimming and one for dry trimming. Mine came with the wet blade on, but here was a cross piece that wasn't attached. I went to the manufacture website and watched a video and paused it, took a screen shot and figured out I needed to attach that piece. Also the blade can be installed upsidown, no indicator on which way to do. Might not matter, but I made it match the pic in the screenshot I took. With that said, once I got it together properly, I used it on fresh cut wet material and it worked well, really well. I used the rubber mat at the bottom to catch the trimmings. It did an excellent job. Maybe a little touching up with the included trimmers they give you, but could go without that as well. Now that I got it together, it's a great unit, just wish there were better assembly instructions and explanations. Any time you have extra parts without an explanation makes you think you did something wrong.

Amazing
This product is amazing and save me a ton of time. I would recommend this to anybody. I did not like the wet trim process however, because everything stuck together and ended up in a ball. Dry trimming I felt was the best way or semi dry I meant.

Save Hours of Time
I have had this for a few years now and it's an amazing time saver. What would have taken days is now done in hours with nice trim which is processed for resin (all fan leaves removed first, takes the most time). Highly recommend also nice kif on the rubber fingers and grill.

Not as good as I hoped but company excellent at customer service and have since fixed problem
I am updating this review. Below is my original issue. I contacted Vivosun regarding this issue. They took the time to understand my issues and have corrected them accordingly. I am extremely satisfied with their customer service regarding quality control and will continue to use Vicodin’s products because of this. The price point is so good that the odd defect can be expected but don’t worry, if there is a real problem and you can prove it, they will fix it. Thanks(Original review) This is my second trimmer like this however this time I went with the larger 19” (generic is 16”) unit. I have little to no issues with the smaller one but the larger one has such a long blade that it seems to bend a bit during operation. This leads to it tapping the underneath cage. Even with all the spacers it still will hit sometimes especially if the blade is cutting a lot of stem or wet herbs. Overall it still does the trick but I recommend the smaller one. Trim less at one time but no issues with blade and easier to spin. Large one is much more awkward when trying to put top on after loading and then spinning a giant tub. Will review again if they fix my issue as it’s possible the bottom rack I have is bent which could make blade hit (seems to hit at same spot). I’m hoping I get a new rack and can try it again. Good luck hope this helps

Huge capacity
It's definitely bigger than I thought it would be. The picture in the add isn't the 19" bowl, it's the 16" version. The 19" has 4 silicon fingers per arm not three' so I was expecting what was advertised. Very happy it's bigger than the pic, it trims much more at a time, The inclusion of the silicon pad is very welcome. Works fantastic, saved me hours of clipping and getting finger hash all over my hands and tools. I recommend Amazon updates their picture to the right product... It would sell more of them!!

Saves lots of time, works pretty darn good
Price wasn’t too bad considering the cost compared to other brands. Instructions were less than adequate. Cleaning is a chore
