Fantastic upgrade for the money
2017 CRF250L changed 14T to 13T for riding on loose dirt, sand, logging roads in Cascade mountains very impressed by versatility now slowing down speeds for 1st thru 3rd allowing 3nd at 12/13mph in 2nd gear with plenty of throttle to speed up at this speed no lugging occurs. Speedo is off 10% per local radar police trailer, online calculator says 7% regardless this is a must have for trails and on roads to allow full use of 6th gear at 50mph and greater best cruising speed is 60mph corrected and still achieving over 55 mpg. I highly recommend people consider this on a tight budget for making your bike a great on and off road cycle.

Game changer for CRF300L
I haven't done Amazon reviews in years but I wanted to make this for anyone on the fence. My order or mods was a little backwards compared to most. Did suspension and then added cams, 550 1.5 Tune, and velocity stack. Really woke the little Honda up and it held 80mph up hill without issue. Was still running stock gearing with a 120/90R18 Tusk D Sport and while it was great on road, when I hit single track or powerline roads it lacked the power to loft the front tire over trees and washouts in 2nd and third without clutching up.Was toying with the idea of a 42T rear as it would put me closer to stock ratio with my tire, but decided to try this considering I could use the stock chain and was cheap as chips. Arrived fast and putting it on took about 15 minutes.SO glad I did it. Wow. Im 260lbs without gear and can now get the front end up in 2nd and sometimes 3rd without clutch. Just preload the front and pull when I pin the throttle.Off-road it climbs like a little red goat. First and 2nd are unstoppable. But it's not so low where I'm constantly rowing up and down through the gears. No compromises on the highway either. Too speeds increased and the bike effortlessly holds gears putting around town. Hit 95mph on uncorrected speedometer yesterday which puts me around 91mph. Previously 85mph was maxing it out. It's slightly more vibey, but I mean it when I say slightly. It by no means feels like the bike is coming apart or making your hands numb. The motor just feels less stressed now and less chuggy at high and low speeds. If you are on the fence about adding this mod and have a larger tire than stock you will absolutely love this. If your focus is more off-road oriented you can pair this with a 42T or 43T and you'll have all the tractor factor you need.Honestly feel this is how it should have come from the factory.

Good quality
The sprocket is good fits perfect on a crf300l, and if you run a larger tire than stock (120/100-18) it makes up for the added diameter and makes the speedometer almost exactly to the factory calibration.

Great extra off-road pull, but increased vibration on the road
Only one result I don't like...in a moment. The change-out from the stock 14T sprocket to this one was quite easy, but I did have to tighten the chain to keep it w/in specs, as I would have imagined. (Using calipers makes it easy to get both sides of the rear axle exactly the same.) The 13T makes such a difference--especially around town and on the dirt trails. I love the extra grunt it gives me where 2nd gear is so much more effective. However, I may go back to my 14T stock sprocket with the stock rubber dampener built onto it. On the road commuting, I'm picking up a noticeably increased vibration in my handlebars with the 13T sprocket (which does not have the rubber dampeners). I can only assume that the stock 14T with the rubber dampeners is what minimized vibration before. When I change back to the stock 14T, I'll know, but it's just a theory as I write this. Thank goodness the change is easy. I have a cell phone/GPS holder mounted to my handlebars, but I don't want to use it along with the 13T because of the vibration, I'm afraid the increased vibration could negatively impact the electronics in my not-so-cheap phone. I'll post an update when I change back--but I'll sure miss the grunt of the lower 13T. (BTW, speedometer seems about 7.5% off with 13T installed, but pretty easy to calculate in head. In your head, just reduce the speed you see on the speedometer by about 7.5%, i.e., I SEE 60 mph on the speedometer, but I'm only doing 55.)

The sprocket that should have been oem
Have a CRF250L with the stock 14/40 gearing? Tired of trying to wheelie and failing? Having trouble getting any use out of 6th gear?Well this sprocket made all the difference to me. I can pop a wheelie much higher and much easier than before with just this sprocket alone! I put it on my bike at 200 miles and I'm almost at 900 now with 0 complaints. It gives the CRF250L much more bottom end, and very surprisingly, more top end! I can actually put my bike in 6th gear at 35 mph and it will actually accelerate all the way up without bogging like it did before. Now you will need to adjust the speedo because these bikes have a sensor in the transmission that sends blips of data to measure your speed, and a different gear ratio will change what speed it thinks it's going. That being said, I've actually been able to hit higher speeds than I could with the 14t sprocket!"How is that possible?" You might ask...Well, I believe honda over geared the front sprocket from the factory to help with gas mileage. So now when you're on the highway with the 13t sprocket, the rpms are in the power band enough to overcome the wind resistance that it couldn't with the 14t. That being said, you might get an extra 3-5 mph on the top end while still achieving faster acceleration on the bottom end. It's a win-win if you ask me.

Id say this sprocket fits better than the stock one and though this one doesnt ...
Installed on 2014 CRF250L. 13t makes a world of difference over the stock 14t. Picked up almost 10mpg in the city and didnt really loose noticeable mpg on the highway. Picked up almost 5mph on the top end and tons more wheelies on the low end. The bike does buzz a bit more on the highway but i have no problem keeping it at 65mph, anything 70+ is really pushing the whole bike though. Id say this sprocket fits better than the stock one and though this one doesnt have the rubber silencer ring on it, i dont notice any chain noise either. Fit fine with the stock chain. East 10 minute job in the driveway. Best upgrade you can to to this bike for a very reasonable price, i would buy this again.
