My Brest Friend Deluxe Nursing Pillow for Breastfeeding & Bottle Feeding, Enhanced Posture Support, Double Straps & Removable Extra Soft Slipcover, Sky Blue

After hearing rave reviews from friends who had this nursing pillow I decided to give it a try. I was a little skeptical when it came because it is so different from the boppy that I already have. I have to say that I absolutely love this pillow though! It has made nursing so much easier as far as the flexibility I now have to move around the house as I nurse. I have a 3 month old who is a little over 7 lbs and I can comfortably nurse her while I stand up or walk around (I hold her in place while doing this, and this may not work for everyone or every baby) because of how secure the pillow stays around my waist with the lumbar pillow in back and the velcro strap that goes around it. This pillow is so much more comfortable than my boppy for several reasons. *First of all it is taller, and because of this I no longer have to worry about hunching over to nurse. I can adjust the pillow to sit higher on my waist if I need to, or it just sits comfortably on my lap as well. *Second, the pillow is wider and flat on top instead of being rounded like the boppy. Now my baby no longer rolls towards me or away from me due to the rounded top of the boppy, and she no longer "falls" into the gap between me and the nursing pillow. *Third, the velcro strap really is very secure and with the deluxe pillow I can adjust the velcro to fit snugly against my body and can use the plastic clasp to unbuckle it so I don't wake her by pulling on the velcro strap. *Fourth, the pillow is a good size around, and what I mean by that is that it isn't bulky on the sides, and I can fit into pretty much all rockers and gliders easily. Whereas the boppy was so wide on the sides that I didn't actually fit into all the chairs I wanted to nurse in. The lumbar support on the back is great also, making this pillow very comfortable to use no matter where I'm sitting. I do use the little pocket to put my cell phone in, especially if I'm walking around while I'm nursing, and I imagine it would be a good place for burp clothes or pacifiers as well. It is actually a good size pocket with a little velcro tab that keeps it closed at the top too. Overall I am very pleased with this pillow and really wish I had skipped buying the boppy and had this one from the very beginning. It really does make nursing much easier, more comfortable and more convenient.

Pros:1. The latch on this is really helpful. I can strap it on, pick up baby, and settle down to nurse without having to arrange a bunch of pillows. When I have to move to reposition or reach for something I can do so without disturbing Baby.2. The back support is great. I have back problems and sitting can be really uncomfortable. This makes sitting in a rocker or couch comfortable, which is wonderful since I spend a lot of time sitting and nursing.3. The pocket is really handy--I can always have breast cream, breast pads, or a binky in reach.4. The foam is nice and firm to support Baby.5. The strap is long enough to fit both me and my husband easily (he'll use it sometimes to support Baby when he's holding him for long periods of time).6. The cover is removable and washable. I washed it and air dried it and had no problems getting it back on. It also dried surprisingly fast--it was dry by the next time I nursed.Cons:1. The foam on the side where it latches isn't very wide (see the picture). If you like nursing with the "football hold" it won't be wide enough on that side to support Baby.2. The bumps seem a little pointless to me; they aren't in the right spot to support Baby's head.3. The one thing that seems better about the Boppy is that you can use it to prop up Baby in a sitting position or for tummy time. I might buy a Boppy just for that.4. I wish it had a waterproof cover.5. It would be nice if this was a little thicker and had a wedge shape to keep Baby close to your body. I prop another thin pillow under it to get Baby in the right position.While it could be better, this is still one of my favorite baby products. Nursing is such a big part of your life with a newborn, and anything that makes it easier is wonderful.Update: I ordered a second one in the "Flower Key, Grey" color. While the pillow is still great, the cover is pictured as a pretty light grey and white, but in actuality it has a horrible green undertone that reminds me of pond scum. Really ugly color; I exchanged it.

I love this nursing pillow so much that I was sad when I stopped using it with my first baby. I breastfeed exclusively, so it’s the baby gear I use the most, next to my glider. It was the first thing I bought when expecting my second child. :)What I love:-foam is a comfy surface that baby loves to lay (and sleep) on-built-in back support-clip-on strap lets me carry this hands-free while I carry my baby-pocket for a cloth or bib for wiping spit ups-zip-off cover makes it easy to switch out to my extra cover (bought separately) and wash-This pillow has been around for years, so lots of cover patterns are available-I love this soft and fuzzy cover, and also love cotton ones.Only thing I don’t love:This particular cover has Velcro on the strap with the rough part facing out, which isticks to things to the wash. Other covers have a regular adjustable strap clip, which I prefer.

I struggled with those stupid little nursing pillows for weeks until I found this and it changed breastfeeding forever! I was finally able to get enough support so we could get a good latch and both relax. It is so easy to use and the flat surface makes it easy to use while still having use of your hands (while holding baby in place with your body). I highly recommend. My only complaint would be that it's large and I didn't like having to lug it around, so I just have a dedicated feeding spot on the couch now.

This is such a great product. It was so helpful for the first 6 months or so with baby. The constant carrying and nursing can cause severe arm, shoulder and neck pain.But once the baby gets more wiggly and taller you can’t really use this anymore.If you do decide to get it, I recommend buying it before baby comes as delivery takes so long.Too bad it’s so expensive. Your wallet will almost physically hurt when you see the piece of foam under the cover!

This pillow is really a best friend during nursing. As a first time nursing mom, I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a breastfeeding pillow. This is comfortable and portable.The only negative point I have about this pillow is that the material is flimsy and the sponge breaks when you remove the cover.

I am a lactation consultant and use this ALL THE TIME in my work and encourage my clients to get this pillow. It gives the best support and allows the mother to get the best nursing position and better latch. Which is key for successful breastfeeding! Highly recommend!
