I am wondering if "HowExpert Press" has an editor. This book is full of formatting errors, typos, poor grammar and incorrectly displaying fonts. These things might be overlooked if the content is excellent, but in this case, the technical problems are merely symptoms of a greater malady.The subtitle of the book is "Your Step-By-Step Guide To Teaching Drama to Kids." Instead of going "step-by-step," the author has divided the book into categories such as: Movement Exercises and Tips; Voice Exercises and Tips; Early Stage Combat and Fight Scenes; etc.. There are no suggestions for creating a plan for each individual class or ongoing series of workshops, just a bunch of random activities within each chapter. Additionally, the author regularly goes off on tangents involving personal stories that detract from the flow of instruction.I found it almost unreadable, at times bordering on ridiculous. Fortunately it is fairly short. Here is a brief excerpt that gives a sense of what you'll find inside:WARM-UP #1 STATUESChoose a "buyer," who goes out of the room. Take each of the remaining students firmly by the arm and swing them round and round until they are dizzy, then "fling" them (not hard-lawsuits are always pending...!!!) into a position. They must stop and hold this position.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Grammar and punctuation issues aside, the suggestion actually sounds dangerous! Can you imagine a teacher doing that to twenty kids in the room?

HowExpert never seem to edit their books, and frequently title them with rather ambiguous and even irrelevant titles. This aside, I found this book a useful tool in planning workshops for inner-city kids. Not sure how it might work with larger classes in schools. Enjoyed the author's personal humorous anecdotes and the verses which began each chapter. Photos seemed fuzzy due to HowExpert's formatting. Fun and simply, and many of the exercises would make excellent party games as well.
