Cute all the way to adorable, with occasional bits of cheek
If Hello Kitty is one winsome image applied to physical objects as well as stationery, these Jetoy cats are a virtual modeling studio of different cartoon cats "posing" on postcards in all manner of situations. My packet contained, among others, a cat on vacation with a Boeing 767 overhead in the distance. A cat trying to hula on a tropical beach. Posing as Red Riding Hood. In a hot-air balloon. Even sitting on the potty reading the news. I was supposed to receive 40 cards but only received 38. As advertised, all cards had repeats, usually 2 or 3; all in all I got 14 different images among the 38 cards. The cardstock is adequately stiff for mailing though not of say, museum-art card quality. Color rendition was excellent. Each card comes in its own plastic sleeve making them easy to collect. The purchaser has no control over which cards s/he will receive among the great many out there. (Think of baseball trading cards in the USA before the manufacturers started putting entire sets into boxes.) These cats, also known as "Choo Choo," originated in Korea and are much better known there than in N. America: as of now Wikipedia has no separate entry for them and the company's main site is in Korea; note that the placement of the stamp and address lines are skewed 90 degrees (to the vertical) from our postcard norm. (However, even though the cards themselves are not oversized, if you "stay between the lines" provided, the U.S. Postal Service will consider the aspect ratio non-standard and charge more.) Nevertheless, these cats have an undeniable appeal ranging from cute to adorable with the occasional venture into cheeky (commode cat).Whether it's the lingering "foreign" quality or the vast range of Choo Choo Cats in the Jetoy universe, these kitties have become undeniably popular. I first heard of Jetoy cats when I joined Postcrossing, and stocked mine for Postcrossing trading, where they are a frequent subject of request. At under $0.20 the card, these cats come at a good price but the shortfall in count I received concerns me; also to me, while two cards of the same kind is acceptable (keep one, trade one), three cards is over the top. Note to Jetoy: Make sure you, or whoever assembles these batches for you, keeps a more accurate count. To do otherwise looks a little careless, which is not cute at all.Note: At 10 by 15 centimeters (four by six inches) these Jetoy cards are smaller than most tourist or art postcards, but they are not substandard in size. In fact, they can be sent domestically at the USPS postcard rate of thirty-five cents (up from thirty-four in mid-2015) provided the user does not adopt the narrow-side-up format for placing the address -- whereas larger cards require a letter stamp. On the other hand, the fact that these cards each come sheathed in a transparent protective wrapper means that they must be enclosed in an envelope to preserve that "inviolate"quality, but some Postcrossers like that. That, of course, requires the usual forty-nine-cent stamp domestically.

Mediocre image quality/color reproduction, flimsy stock, high possibility of duplicates
Caveat emptor, indeed. After having ordered this similar-sounding product at $12.50 in the springtime from a different vendor, I mistakenly ordered this in haste and noticed immediately the difference upon unwrapping. I had decided to take my chances with the high possibility of receiving duplicates and/or a small assortment of unique designs despite having read previous reviews; I received about 10-12 different designs with duplicates versus almost 40 unique designs from the other vendor. That wasn't as bothersome as the fact that these images were faded, and the cardstock was thinner than the cards I had ordered from a different vendor. (I have seen this evident in my postcard exchanges -- perhaps Jetoy cards used to be printed in a less colorful, sturdy manner?) Either way, I was paying far less than the retail price of $2.00 per card as sold on the Jetoy USA site, but still, it was disappointing. I will not be ordering this again from this vendor.

VARIETY?
VARIETY: the quality or state of being different or diverse; the absence of uniformity, sameness, or monotony. These postcards are beautiful and high quality. However, when I read that I will be sent a VARIETY, I expect that. I'm not unreasonable, I wouldn't have minded if I would've gotten some repeats of several cards, no problem. However, I got TWO kinds. I got 5 of one card and THIRTY-FIVE of another! And the one I got the most of, is one that features 3 animals as opposed to the ones that feature just the cats. It was a good deal but I expected a little more, given the description. Had the seller included an actual variety, as promised, I would've ordered another several sets.

Cute, Fun, Random, Luck of the Draw Postcards
I absolutely adore these. I love the fact that they each come in their own little plastic sleeves, the colors are eye-catching, the pictures themselves so adorable and smile-inducing. I will say - I gave these five stars because I was a lucky recipient of a good many different designs. I know some can be dismayed at receiving a less than stellar collection of postcards, but the description DOES say "Design sent at random". I really liked the look of these cards so I was willing to take the chance. I'm sure had I been stuck with 10 copies of 1, 5 of another and so forth, I might be giving this 3 stars, but again - it's at the risk of the buyer. They never promise a variety of many different kinds, just random sets. So definitely keep that in mind when ordering. Pictured are what I received and how many of each. Standard postcard stock, slightly smaller than 4x6, will most likely purchase another set as a gift.

Cute cats - can't be beat!
I love Jetoy designs, and these cards sure didn't disappoint! You'll receive duplicates of every style, which I really appreciate - sometimes I like to hang on to one or two of my favorites for myself, framing them as inexpensive prints! The backs of the postcards follow a more Eastern style when it comes to the mail layout, so don't be surprised by the vertical orientation! The USPS will still accept these normally. The print quality is a little fuzzy/grainy at times, but the overall cuteness and value of this set make up for it. They came individually wrapped in plastic sleeves, which was kind of nice from my perspective - while some may consider that wasteful, I reuse those as clear envelopes or for other craft projects. Seemed like a bonus to me! Would definitely buy again - I already used up all 40 cards!
