These type dolls are perfect for younger children who can't dress / undress dolls or are a little rough and tend to pull off arms and legs like mine did with the other ones I had. My 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son LOVE these dolls and carry them around everywhere! We got 4 different sets so that they can play with the different families together. Just like the ones they have in their daycare classes. They are not bendable but that is what kept making the other ones we had break so I prefer these. Fast shipping too! I couldn't resist - I bought every little "family" the company had available. My two youngest granddaughters (sisters) are very close in age, and this was a very fun add-on to their new Christmas dollhouse. I'm delighted with the quality, and also to have done enough research now to fully understand how dollhouse figures and furniture are sized, so I could order with full confidence the dolls would fit the house. Of course these particular figures only came in one size, but it was the "standard" size scale that fits the majority of dollhouses perfectly. And they truly WERE perfect! We were all delighted at the quality, detail and diversity of the dolls - and the girls were relating to each doll, naming the families and even giving names to some of the individual dolls within minutes. My daughter says they continue to play with the figures every day, so this was a great value all the way around.

Love the diversity but shouldn't cost twice as much as other ethnic family figures cost

I work in speech therapy with toddlers. The children like them. I have been able to elicit much language using them. The only downside is that they are unbendable; however, many of the autistic children seem to prefer these over the bendable dolls.I like how they are gender dimorphic. This makes it easier to practice tasks things such as third person pronouns and gender categorization, e.g. mommy and daddy, boy and girl.

The variety, the extended family was marvelous for my wish to bring humanity as one concept.

The family members are really hispanic (they seem mexicans), they are solid, very colorful and full of little details. They are perfect for child therapy specially because it's difficult here, in hispanic countries, finding dolls with hispanic features.You should know they can't be bended and I disliked that they all say CHINA in some part of their bodies.
