Just what I expected
Same as the steel cut oats from the grocery store but in bulk and less expensive.

Good texture
I cook them over night in my rice steamer set on brown rice.I also add some almond extract for flavor.using 2 cups of oats and 6 cups of water makes about 4 or 5 servings depending on the size you want.I set the timer on my ricer for 5am and at 7am there ready after a little stirring.Makes enough for a few days.

(Edited)Arrived badly damaged but survived with a plastic bag placed around the contents
Arrived badly damaged. I'm very disappointed. Not sure if it's safe for consumption. Such a waste I'm f not.****After 2nd look the company did put the paper bag of steel cut oats in a plastic bag in case it broke in transit so I feel more secure about using the steel cut oats. It was a bit messy to transfer the oats to my glass container but doable. Sorry for the negative post but for the company please reinforce your paper bag you put the product in. I appreciate it wasn't a plastic container since I'm trying to lessen the microplastic items I buy and I'm also replacing all plastics I can with glass and stainless steel This hurts since I love my food processor and vitamix but I'm looking for stainless containers for both ;).

Great. Love steel cut oats
Just like steel can brand but much cheaper. In fact I reuse the steel cans filled with these generic steel cut oats. My recipe: 1/4 cup oats, 15 minutes in the microwave at 30% power if you want to cook 2 servings, use 60% power. Excellent with a little grated fresh ginger and a touch of sweet.
