Better than what comes with mixer
This beater blade works much better than the one that comes with the kitchen aid. It reaches all the way to the bottom of the bowl whereas the one with only rubber on one side does not. My daughter almost returned her mixer because it wasn’t scraping the bowl but when I told her about this one, it was a game changer.

Perfect replacement for the original.
Love this replacement blade for my kitchen-aid mixer. I use my kitchen-aid mixer a lot, and unfortunately the original beater blade ended up going through the dishwasher (we won’t say who did that). Because the blade went through the dishwasher it ruined it and i couldn't use it because it left a residue on my dough. I searched high and low for a replacement of the blade and I couldn't find it. I was skeptical of ordering this new metro KA-5L beater blade for two reasons. 1. It was plastic and 2. It had scraper blades on it so i was worried it wouldn’t fit my kitchen-aid bowl. It fits perfectly AND I love that the New Metro Blade had side scrapers, because I don’t have to worry about using a spatula. Now I can get back to baking!

What a Time Saver!
Cookies, buttercream icing, brownies. quick breads - all can be mixed in my Kitchenaid with this attachment. It mixes very well and you don't need to stop the mixer and scrape down the sides. It fits my 5Qt Professional Kitchenaid. My mixer is several years old and I bought a similar attachment when it was new. After 9 years the first beater blade I bought wore out. I just replaced it and this beater blade is much nicer and work better than the first one I had. We made at least 12 batches of Christmas cookies and this blade beater save a lot of time and energy. A very useful attachment for your Kitchenaid.

it was great while it lasted
Well, it was great while it lasted. It lasted quite a while, too--I see I bought this in 2009, and here at the end of 2014 the plastic attachment point for one of the arms has broken, and there's a crack on both sides of the center shaft up to the housing that fits into the mixer. It survived the last 18 months of the 2-year "bake every cake in Rose's Heavenly Cakes at a rate of one a week" project--I think it was an endorsement from Rose that brought it to my attention. There was a good bit of other baking (cakes, cookies, and other stuff) in the 5 years before this broke, too, thick batters and thin, chunky batters and smooth. The beater blade worked well with all of themResponding to some other comments: I don't find the beater blade harder to clean than the KA paddle--I use a small pointed-tip silicone spatula to run over all the surfaces and that does the job. I've never had batter get into the central shaft of the thing. About the only annoyance is the loud squeaking of the blade against the bowl as it gets started, but if the first step involved butter or some other fat, I wipe a little over the blades to lubricate things and that solves the problem.I guess I'll buy another one--I would have loved for it to last as long as the metal beaters that KA makes, but I think I got my money's worth from it nonetheless.

The best replacement blade
I bought my first Original Beater Blade about 12 years ago and it held up very well to hard use. This month, it broke near to top while mixing a large, heavy batch of dough. I'd tried a couple of other, less expensive brands and knew I wanted the Original Beater Blade brand. I highly recommend this brand. The new one works as well as the old one. The rubber blade does a great job of wiping the sides of the bowl - much better than the original metal blade that came with my Kitchenaid. Note that the rubber-edged blade is a little harder to clean than the plain metal beater blade, but its performance is worth the minor extra effort to clean.Just make sure to order the blade that matches your mixer. Like all things Kitchenaid, these are not universally interchangeable across different sized bowls.

Great paddle
Purchased this product for my husband as he needed something that would scrape the bowl correctly and our original paddle had gotten tarnished in the dishwasher. We have the drop-down bowl style mixer. It works great.

Doesn't fit my mixer, poor quality
Description said this would fit a KitchenAid 5 quart bowl-lift mixer, which I have, but it didn't work for mine. I do have an older model, KitchenAid Pro 500, so that may be why the sizing was off. However, I was also disappointed to find that it's made of plastic and not metal. The price point is the same as the metal attachments from KitchenAid so this was also a disappointment. Probably won't purchase again from this brand.

Works great
The media could not be loaded. This fits our Kitchen Aid professional HD seris mixer from costo. As you can see in the video the scraper cleans the side of the bowl but not with every swipe. Which is fine really. It is made of plastic, but so far hasn't mattered. Sometimes the position of the mixer head prevents an easy install/insert of the paddle. A quick turn then immediate off repositioning the the mixer head for easy insert. Overall, we are happy with this purchase and with 1 batch of hamburger buns and one batch of cookies we aren't complaining 😋

BUY THIS!!!
I’ve gone through 3 kitchen aid metal beaters with powder coating which always ends up chipping off and getting all gross. For the price they charge, they should be made more durable! It’s been a real pain over the years! FINALLY I have found this beater and couldn’t be happier!! It works pretty well (doesn’t scrape the sides like it should) and not going to end up chipping anytime soon!! WOOHOO!!!!

Good quality and correct fit for KitchenAid 6-quart Pro.
This scraper is very good quality. It saves SO MUCH time in terms of scraping down the bowl. The durable, hard plastic can take just about anything except very hot sugar syrup. I goofed while mixing a fudge that had a boiled syrup and it bent the first beater blade I'd bought - oops... live and learn. A word of advice: because the scraper scrape the sides of the bowl very well, I use a cooking spray or a little oil to coat the bowl first or it makes a high pitch squeaking noise.
