Meh
The 4 of spades had a flaw. There was a black heart in place of a spade.

A great looking deck of cards!
Before this, I’ve only owned bicycle playing cards, or perhaps decks from casinos. I jumped at a chance for a high quality designer deck and I was not disappointed.Everything about this deck of cards screams quality, from the fun vintage style tax stamp seal over the opening flap, the double sided printed box, to the cards themselves. Printed on high quality paper and coated, these should hold up to regular use as playing cards or for more interesting pursuits. They handle well and shuffle well and look great.Of course, the quality of the cards is one thing, but the art is really where it’s at. They worked with three colors in black, red and silver. You can really tell that someone who knows composition designed and drew these because they do a great job with contrasting colors. The deck keeps the classic style of cards while adding its own twist to it with absolutely outstanding artwork that sort of twists the classic card images into something a little more edgy. I really like the backside artwork but the royals are especially fun, and of course, you have the two Jokers with one of the two dressed as a thief. The art is accentuated with silver highlighting and the overall effect is pretty cool. This is a pack of cards that people will stop to look at while you’re using them. I think they’d be a fun deck to use for magic especially.I don’t know if I normally would spend 18 dollars on a deck of cards. I’m not into cards enough to decide to spend my money that way, and frankly, the games I play are generally limited to Solitaire or go fish with my kids. If I ever get a game of sheepshead together, however, this deck is definitely being pulled out.If you’re someone who likes cards, collects them or just want a high quality traditional style deck of cards that goes beyond the simple bicycle style, these are worth a look.

Good looking set of unique cards for tricks and games
I received these cards specifically to write a review. That said, I try to be honest and open in all my reviews.(Please see the enclosed pictures.)As you can see from the picture, these are good sized cards. The illustrations are sharp and can be seen from a good distance away, which makes them great for doing card tricks for an audience.I loved the tri-color (red, black, and silver) printing combined with the faux medieval look. These are both fun to use yourself and would be greatly appreciated as a gift to the right person.I highly recommend these cards.

Beautiful and excellent quality
This is our second Joker and the Thief set we've tried, and I have to say these are incredibly high end and have a really nice finish and touch to them. They aren't cheap, but if you want the durability of fancy cards for tricks and smooth shuffle movement, these are a lot better than your average name-brand card (*cough* bicycle *cough*). I really like the artwork on them as well they are a beautiful set.My son actually pointed out that the other Joker and Thief set we got shuffled a little smoother than this one- this is more of a matte finish rather than the slippery smooth finish of the other deck we got. But you can only tell if comparing them side by side. This deck on its own right is incredible and well worth the money if you're into cards.

Beautiful well made cards with unique and attractive art, pricey
This a wonderful set of cards with a beautiful and unique design. The black and white design is sharp and attractive, and the cards themselves are high quality coated, thick US made playing cards. These should hold up well to regular use and play. The contrast of black, red, and silver colors is quite striking, and the artwork will make a fan of card games and tricks recognize these as quite unique. That said, they are pricey! Not sure if they are worth so much more over comparable decks, especially if you burn through decks like a typical magician or card player.

Beautiful design, although standard cards seem a bit blurry
As far as high end playing cards go, these definitely hit the mark. Terrific feel, beautiful textures and contrasts, solid packaging.I may be nitpicking, but I expect a little more from the non-picture cards. Standard (non-picture) cards feature no artwork, and the numbers and suits are a tad too blurry for my liking. This wouldn't be so glaring if not for the prominence and beauty of the other cards in the set.If you're looking for a nice set to gift, use for magic...this is a great option. To play with, however, I'd look elsewhere.
