Lighthouse Hydro BlackStar Flowering LED Grow Light, 100-watt

My first thought when reciving this was WOW its small. Plugged it in and it is extreemly bright!.... For the 40 watts it draws... Not to happy to plug it into a killawatt and see that

I bought this light so I could satisfy my gardening addiction during the long New England winter. I had briefly looked into getting an HID lamp, but after seeing all the parts I'd need (ballast, expensive and short-lived bulb, fixtures) and all the wiring involved, I started looking into LEDs. I was thrilled to find a product like this! You just plug it in and go - it even comes with the stuff you need to hang it, all I needed was a little tack to put in the wall.When I first plugged it in, I was struck by how bright it is. You don't want to be staring at this thing. The angle of the light is narrow enough that it won't be shining right at you if you have it facing down though. I planted a bunch of seeds in trays underneath it, and the plants seem to really like the light. They look healthy and are growing pretty quickly, more toward the light than they are toward the window right next to them. My housemates get a kick out of the eerie pink glow coming from my window and under the door to my room.My only "complaint", if you can call it that, is that the fan is a bit noisy if you'll have it in a room where you'll be reading/working/etc... It's not incredibly loud, but I'd say it's about twice as loud as my computer, which is annoying enough that I turn it off if I'm not going to be using it for a few minutes. It's not a big deal for most uses, but something to be aware of.

The light description alleges 100 watt, yet on the back label, it clearly states the maximum wattage is 50 watts. So you folks that think its just such a bright, nice light have a bulb or 2 missing yourselves. Odd that Gotham did not describe the light as described on his own product. perhaps that would have made his 148.99 a 77.99 just what its offered for in numerous competitors websites. I'm glad yall enjoyed paying twice the price for fraud, or after looking at the bright light and the noisy fan were you hypnotized? Amazon is simply amazing in the lengths they will go to, to CHEAT YOU RIGHT!I would simply add that if these are indeed 2 watt diodes they would not grow a blade of grass. There is no way to know what amount of light these diodes emit without dismantling your light ,thereby voiding your warranty. There are plenty of great LEDS available, I would suggest looking elsewhere.All of these satisfied customers or either friends and family of seller or the whole review product is a scam,of which I do not believe. I think this is the first item I have ever returned, whether i was happy or not. that is how upset I was with this product and its quality, in addition to its failing. I do see I am not the only one who got bit by Gotham on this. Thank You, for allowing me to express my opinion,except upon inspection you will find it to be fact ,not opinion.

I bought two of these and getting a third! Compared to the 240 watt I also have these are very useful in the fact i can place these more ackwardly around the room to disturbt light and they seem to cover more for the same amount of wattage. The health and growth of these things now is crazy between this and the organic system i use. Roots grow in he light too (very easily).I'm never using my 400 Watt again unless im just trying to add more watts or something. Seems like a waste now... I love the fact you can have these 18" up or right on the plants and NO HEAT just slightly warm. The fans on it make some nice air movement too and silent... looking at the light will prolly give you a glare in your vision but not blinding and I KNOW its not good to look at. With such low wattage and easy placement its much easier to get and adjust these on the plants for light than the 240. Yeah this is the future of organic growing. this and some solar panels and my vegies are going crazy!

good for starting seedlings

i have had my lighthouse hydro UFO 100 watt led for almost a year it still works like new and has outlasted other brands of lights already beat three other brands this is my favorite so far i have two of the 180 watt vegetive growth in my 9 sq ft tent and this and the other brand lights that dont last like thease i love them i need to get another new UFO since ive compared the left and right sides of my 6 sq ft tent the plants on the side of this light grew to the light sometimes in a few days unchecked in the tent haha but its leds so no leaf burn yeah great lights outlasts the rest of the brands ive tryed so far

These lights are not powerful enough for flowering your plants. You are MUCH better getting a High Pressure Sodium bulb they are cheaper and give you better results. I told the vendor this and this is the lovely reply I got from them:The item is not defective and works properly. The lack ofdesired results does not indicate a problem with the item. There are many otherfactors that may influence a plant's growth. Comparison of the item'sperformance with other methods of growing plants is not grounds for a return. Wewould be happy to exchange the item if it was defective, but since it is workingproperly, we cannot authorize a return

very bright. the 2 watt leds have very good penetration. got it a day before the estimated delivery. they keep you up to date on all the tracking and send you an email when it is delivered. only thing that i would recomend is swapping the hook that hangs the light out for one of those ring hooks. the ones that are designed for climbing but everyone uses them for their keys. that thing. not a big deal. overall very satisfied. dont look into it you will be seeing the light for a couple minutes. it ships from nevada.
