My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to our library. The issues children faced and their independence was a real eye opener to my pre-teen. We will definitely be purchasing other historical resources from this collection.

My 7 year old is history buff and this was perfect for him. We have the one about the Civil War too and he loves it. It gives accurate telling of history that is great for level of reading. I highly recommend any from this series.

This book was a quick read. It gave me some ideas to use as activities with my students. I will also use the photos to teach historical analysis.

Great book! My kids have picked it up numerous times interested in learning more...we studied it after their interest in inventors and how so many things began to change in their great grandma's lifetime. It has photographs and interesting true stories about kids who worked long hours for very little pay. I think it gave them some gratitude for their luxuries and perspective on just how truly blessed we really are to have the technology and common comforts we enjoy!

Great book to teach kids about the Industrial Age. Our 6 yr old was able to get a lot of information in a fun, easy to understand way...we will continue to use this book for years to come
