Love it. Excellent primer. But a few things... It's important to note that the house system they use in this book is called Placidus. Research that versus whole sign system. Figure out which method/system you prefer. Also if you want to draw up your chart you don't have to follow their directions. just go to astro.com and go to free horoscopes then Ascendant, natal chart. They urge you to order from some website i've never heard of. just research how to draw your own chart on astro.comYou'll also want to make sure you know your exact birth time and place to get the most out of this book.

I am reviewing as someone who has zero knowledge of Astrology, so if you're well educated then this might be awesome for you. I haven't Dove into it just yet because I will be going on a road trip next week & planned on reading it then, so my review my change. I personally think it's way too complex for a beginner like me, and I'm very disappointed that I have to purchase their birth chart they require to use the book past chapter 1 for like $50 which is misleading...

This book was recommended to me by one of my spiritual teachers and a trusted astrologist. It shipped fast, and when I got it, I worked through the whole first chapter right away. I have my natal chart from said teacher, and I was able to immediately put some meaning to it. I love the workbook style as it is so tailored to having a deeper understanding of yourself and how everything you've felt your whole life actually has meaning and purpose on a grander scheme. You can also start to understand others on a deep Universal level as well. Very happy with my purchase!!

Love this book! Simple to use. Each step is broken down to help you clearly interpret your natal chart. If your looking for a deeper understanding of who you are according to your astrology chart, this is a great way to look at it. Each stop looks at "skillful" and "unskillful" keywords (traits), which I found handy to pin point things I could improve on. As a life coach, I see this as a powerful tool for clients who are looking to do some soul searching. As a beginning astrologer, I found it simple to understand and use. It helped me pick up things that I wanted to investigate further and with the book recommendations included, I have been able to do just that.

Excellent and thorough introduction for new students, excellent for intermediate. You do NOT have to purchase a $50 birth chart. Astro.com offers FREE charts, and the ability to store data when you make a free account. This book is for serious study, not casual and vague sun sign astrology. Respect!

Fantastic workbook that I used for an Introduction to Astrology Class. Very clear, easy to follow and understand. Slowly takes you through your chart with great exercises, charts, keywords for houses, signs and planets, and thorough explanations. Even goes into the nodes, asteroids, retrogrades and transits. I wish I had a book like this when I was trying to grasp these concepts back in the 70s!

Very easy to understand, good for beginners or intermediate astrologers. A lot of simple information but nice to have it all in once place and it definitely delves a little deeper.

Well written, total must have for anyone who wants to learn the ins n outs of astrology. Love this book

This lovely book contains all the information you will need to know as a Beginner of Astrology - all 253 pages holds all the treasures that Astrology can bring you. It is very clearly written and easy to understand.Your journey through Astrology starts with the Basics and ends with the opportunity for you to understand yourself more than you did when you opened the book.I highly recommend "Astrology for Yourself" it will be one of the treasures on your bookshelf.

Fantastic work book, for identifying in dept detail about your own sun sign, and potentially other peoples too. I'm half way through, and I am fascinated by what it has revealed!

A concise, practical & useful tool for both beginners and advanced astrology students alike. Thoroughly enjoyed working through this, only wish there was a second book for synastry!(Had to wait 3 weeks for delivery but was well worth it!)

It seems like a great read but keeps skipping chapters on my Kindle so not able to read it properly.

Another of the books that are in my hard cover library, that is on my need list for a second copy in electronic form... on the don't leave home without it...... all beginners could benefit from this one... has a good fill in the blanks format with much thought generating content... helps to connect up the various parts of a chart in a way that makes sense... and the exercise of having to write down . fill in the blanks, helps to cement in the understand , what the chart is all about.... Another of the authors that I wish were around when I started on the Astrological path of understanding what the many and various components are describing about a persons internal & external makeup.......
