No offense to Chinese made products, I’m just always on a quest to support other countries that manufacture things. This thing is awesome! I rarely leave reviews. I’ve had a home espresso machine for years and always used what they came with. Currently a rancillio Silvia, with which this works perfectly. The weight to this is impressive and it’s perfectly made. Just buy this one!

Wow, what a difference from the built-in cheapo tamper on my Breville Barista Express, now this tamper is high quality real wood and has the weight so that you can get that perfect tamp everytime, definitely would recommend.

I wanted a wooden handle that felt like it belonged in my hand and a tamper that curved to my thumb so that I could intuitively feel how firm I have tamped. My previous tamper was pressure calibrated and I was ironically getting mixed results. This tamper helps me get it right every time for an even pour, and it looks beautiful. Perfectly sized for my basket and well crafted.

My new espresso machine came with a tamper… but it was a fairly thin plastic one. It did the job… but it requires all of the force required to tamp the ground espresso to come from your own arm and doesn't have a whole lot to hold onto while doing so. I knew I could do better. After looking at several different tampers on here and reading quite a few reviews… I settled on this one. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. It's comfortable in hand, has substantial weight, is smooth like it should be and is easy to clean. And it's beautiful on top of that.

It has a nice weight and finish. Fits a little loose in the stock Gaggia basket (which is closer to 58.5mm), but doesn't impact the ability to give a great tamp for perfect espresso.

Was having issues with gushing shots using a cheap two sided aluminum tamper. This tamper appears to have made all the difference . It has the right weight and smooth surface to tamp a shot without polishing. My basket is 58mm, and the fit is true to size. I would buy again.

Quality tamper with plenty of weight and perfect finish! The menthol color is simply gorgeous and compliments the wooden handle perfectly. Not much else to add other than buy it if you are on the fence. You won't be disappointed. In case it makes a difference to you, it's made in the Ukraine. Feels and looks to be a lifelong espresso companion.

As a Senior, I bought this to replace my Breville Barista Express Tamper, as it wore out after 5 yrs. Do not hesitate to buy this Tamper, as it works beyond expectations. This is a great replacement Tamper for the 54mm Tamper, that comes with the Barista 870 Express!!
