Generac 6827 XC8000E 8,000 Running Watts/10,000 Starting Watts Electric Start Gas Powered Portable Generator - CARB Compliant

The Generator itself is wonderful. Its well built, easy to maintain and quiet. Fantastic Generator! But unfortunately Generac has the worst customer support that Ive ever experienced. Generac support gave me the wrong information three times. They first told me that the 30 Amp circuit is not GFI protected and that it will work with any transfer switch. - Wrong answer! In fact it does require either a GFI enabled transfer switch or a switch neutral kit to make it work. It took two calls to verify this. So now I need a new transfer switch. I decided to go with the Generac HomeLink 6854 transfer switch which will work according to Generac's site but according to Generac support it still needs the neutral kit. Wrong again! After two more calls we finally agree that the 6854 comes equipped for GFI generators. Bottom line - I don't understand how Generac can sell generators but have no one in customer support that has a clue. I was actually given the wrong information over and over. Makes me want to switch to a different product which is a shame because this generator is really nice.
