Meinl 16" Trash China Cymbal with Holes - Classics Custom Brilliant - Made In Germany, 2-YEAR WARRANTY (CC16TRCH-B)

These are usually dubbed "Ozone" Chinas, but I guess Meinl didn't get the memo.Nevertheless, this cymbal is very dark, trashy, and LOUD. It's louder than my 16" Wuhan, with a much cleaner, cutting sound. I also like the large, flat rim a lot, because it's easier to hit and most likely less prone to cracking. It's of medium-thickness, high quality bronze, and you don't have to bash it to get a loud sound out of it. This thing sounds great under a mic even without EQ or compression. For a high quality china like this, the price isn't bad either. If Meinl releases a 12"/14" version of this cymbal, I'll be the first person to buy it if my other Wuhan cracks (lol). If you're in it for the aesthetics, this is cymbal has an amazing finish and the ozone holes add to the "aggro"/industrial look.I usually play all types of metal, jazz, rock, and some funk.

When I first received this item i didn't like the sound but once you break it in after a while it does sound amazing. It has such a loud attack and it can be used perfectly with metal/rock. It has an amazing roar and and barley a sustain, its a quick attack and sound really great!

Just what I was looking for, sounds great. FYI it could have been packed a little better for shipping, nice size box plenty of paper BUT the cymbal was just sitting on TOP of the paper with no protection but the plastic bag it comes in. mine is ok BUT...Thanks, Dave

Great cymbal for your money!

The chinese "ring" from most cymbals like this is slightly reduced, and a much more medium / bright tone eminates from this cymbal. Best used as an accent when whipping the snare drum at the end of a measure, hit the snare w/ this cymbal at the same time for a crushing post to the end of a line.

Excellent tone, great trashy sound. Very fun and quality cymbal. Great value for a great price. Highly recommned for all drummers
