The power supply went bad in my Dell tower PC and I needed a replacement power supply. This one was good value for money and worked perfectly to get my PC back up an running. Works great again now!

I have a Dell Inspiron 580 that I got back in 2010 that has had some erratic start-up issues over the years. I had assumed it was the start button because the problem would arise for a couple of days and then vanish for months. Then the computer died. I did some online research and found that Dell had some power supply issues in some models back in 2010 and 2011. I got this replacement power supply and it was a perfect replacement fit. Same size and it had all the power cable connections I needed. I had to look up on Youtube on how to depress the tabs on the computer case to release the old power supply and then bend them back so that they would lock the replacement in place. It was all pretty easy. Took me less than a half hour to swap out the power supply and the computer works just fine now. Thanks Amazon for having the right replacement power supply for me.

Installation was straightforward. Noticed right away the fan is loud. Not motor noise but the air noise sort of like a vacuum cleaner. After just over one year in service the internal fan quit completely making screeching bearing noises. I had a spare fan on hand and had to replace the original.Supply is now back to operation and MUCH quieter with a quality fan. Disassembling the old fan I found it was really cheap, only a four pole motor and cheap bearings.

After installation in my computer, the power supply would not power up at all. The power supply was returned after it failed, but I had to pay a re-stocking fee. Not happy with product quality.

My old power supply died and I needed to replace it because my 10 year old Dell Windows 7 machine containing 32 bit engineering software that is irreplaceable. I purchased this power supply and I am very satisfied. However, as other people have commented, I had to make some modifications which wasn't too difficult. I had to clip the pigtail for the hard drive power cords off of my old power supply and solder/heat shrink it to the new one to reach my dual hard drive set up. The power supply did fit the original space perfectly and snapped in place. But the other issue was that I had to drill a hole in the back of my computer case to secure the power supply since this is a typically generic replacement unit and the screw holes on the new p/s were located differently. Other reviewers commented about the fan being loud. It is a slightly louder but not distracting. Overall, as I said, I'm very satisfied. My Dell is up and running!

This power supply worked perfect. Not only is my computer up and running again, but it no longer makes a high pitch noise whenever the mouse moves like it used to. It's quiet, the connectors were the right length and, as pictured, the connectors are 90 degrees, which I needed in order to put the cover back on. Very happy.

Glad to get this, as my Dell desktop is back in business.However, the wrapping was shockingly bad... some padded foam around it and in bubble envelope... no box or anything.And it is way louder than the Dell fan was (which is also on Amazon for less).But glad I have it and computer runs ok.
