Transcending the Levels of Consciousness: The Stairway to Enlightenment - Kindle edition by Hawkins MD/PHD, David R.. Religion & Spirituality Kindle eBooks @ desertcart.com. Review: Brilliant Road-Map for Your Journey Towards Enlightenment - The first book of David R Hawkins I read was Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior-Author's Official Revised Edition 2012 around 2002. It was incredibly thought provoking as the idea of being able to determine and access truth about any person now or in the past, about any event or anything in history was awe inspiring to me. The book introduced a logarithmic scale of consciousness from 0 to 1,000 which Christ, Buddha and other great spiritual leaders have reached. David Hawkins gave this "Conscious Scale" section in the book names of which he designated 17. In Power Versus Force there were only a few pages on this fascinating scale. I was a bit disappointed there were only a few pages about it because these few pages were what I kept coming back to time and again over the next few years. I saw these pages as holding the key to diminishing my ego on my spiritual and personal growth journey in life. Soon after this period I was excited to discover the fantastic book Transcending the Levels of Consciousness was a full book of expansion on the 17 levels briefly described in Power Versus Force. The book accurately describes each level in a whole chapter. Each level we attain is like a mindset, a trap the person at that level can't easily escape. It's like the story of being trapped in a box and the instructions are on the outside of the box. Once you escape the box its obvious how you can, but you can't escape to read the instructions. This is so much like each level of human consciousness where we are always trapped by our mindset. Higher and broader levels of context are understood with each raising of your level, or number on the Consciousness Scale. I remember many years ago finding out I calibrated at 'only 235' just after I first discovered Power Versus Force. I was incredibly disappointed in my lowly calibration at that time as I was certain I would be much higher (my own ego). I then read and studied and thought about the 'level' I was on and the next level to reach as David so accurately describes in his book. His book become my escape path to much higher levels. I owe David and this book tremendous gratitude for my wonderful journey towards enlightenment and I could never have made the incredible progress without this road map. Some readers may not "get" the "17 Levels" concept in the book, which is sad as their own mindset could be preventing them from seeing the power of describing the levels not as a labeling system but as a road map to study to raise your consciousness to far higher levels... beyond happiness. I believe the one factor that makes all of David's books the best collection of personal growth and spiritual growth books available in the world today is that they are are 'calibrated' on the "Consciousness Scale" for their level of content of truth. The level of calibration is scientific in approach as any qualified and experienced kinesiologist anywhere in the world can verify the content and calibration levels. Another excellent book of David's is Truth vs. Falsehood: How to Tell the Difference . I highly recommend it with this book as a pair to buy at the same time as either book will leave you wanting more of truth! Review: Fantastically written, thought-provoking! - This book was recommended to me recently, and to say I am blown away is an understatement. I won’t give away any spoilers, but my friends and I refer to books like this one as “big bites”, which I would define as a book that requires a great deal of mental processing, note taking, re-reading, and discussion before you fully understand it. The book is set up to start at the bottom and walk you through each defined level of your consciousness, so you’re exploring all the deep, dark, and dirty first, which can be off-putting and triggering to some folks, so keep that in mind before you order. Otherwise, the book is also very technically well written and a little wordy, so if you enjoy a bit of a challenge, this is the perfect read for you.

One of the most valuable books
Perhaps the 3 most valuable books on earth are the Bible (because it outlines the Atonement), Transcending the Levels of Consciousness, and Letting Go (also by dr. Hawkins) Transcending the Levels of Consciousness and Letting Go, in addition to perhaps literally being the two most valuable books on earth with the exception of the Bible, complement each other. -this review is from someone who's scavenged this earth's greatest literature, from Upanishads through the Dharmmapada, from the Analects of Confusious, to the Tao Te Ching, from the TaNaKh and Zohar through the New Testament and Gnostic texts, to the Koran, the (shorter) Summa, the writings of St. Francis, Maimonides' Guide for the Perplexed, from the latter-day saint scriptures besides the bible (Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Lectures on Faith, etc.) (Where I find the most truth in Christianity -and Christianity being where I find the most truth on this earth), to A Course on Miracles, from the philosophical writings of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, to the stoic ideologies of Aurelius, Epictetus, and Seneca the Younger, to the work of Newton, Plank, Bohr, Faraday, Maxwell, and Thomson, to Einstein, Schrödinger, and Hawking, etc. And yet when I say perhaps literally the 2 most valuable books beside the bible itself (and additional scriptures had among the latter-day saints), I literally mean it. Worthy of note are three other books from Hawkins that are also of *great* value as well, they are, respectively, The Eye of the I, I: Reality and Subjectivity, and Discovery of the Presence of God. I hope this helps! Gloria in excelsis Deo 😊

Extremely Important & a Revelation
This book is so important to read, at least for me it has been. Everything makes more sense now. At first I had a hard time with it because he uses a lot of big words and I had to keep looking them up, but after awhile, over the course of several days reading, I began to adapt to his style. It’s made me more aware of what I think and what comes out of my mouth. I wish I would’ve come across it years ago, but maybe I wasn’t ready. Thank you Dr. Hawkins!

Useful for me!
Written by a dr and an enlightened person. This is a rare combination and helpful for those who are seekers of info from that perspective. Only experience will provide the wisdom of this book is valuable to you, but I suggest that you be "significantly" on your spiritual path (meditate with ease, have a sense of your "self" for the words to have meaning and not seem tedious.

This book builds nicely on his other book "Letting Go". I worked with his simple and powerful technique outlined in "Letting Go" before reading this one. His writing reminds me of J Krishnamurti's prose in the sense that he articulates the numinous in a way that seems so obvious and leaves you feeling uplifted (that is one of the stated intentions of Transcending) and yet the words and concepts take flight from the mind after you finish reading it. All that's left is a felt sense of having peaked into the cloud of unknowing. As with many of Hawkins books, it's well worth re-reading again and again. The only potential folly is to fall in love with all of his pointers to such an extent that you miss the best opportunity this book offers; a very clear and powerful set of descriptions that are best applied as tools to support radically honest self-observation for the sake of transcending the levels of consciousness. That is the ultimate value of Hawkins's book. Of course, it helps to have a living teacher and since Hawkins has passed on, if you don't have one, use his techniques (or sincere, heartfelt prayer) to find a teacher.
