Blood Wedding: A Play (Faber Drama)

Blood Wedding is a classic and this translation is top notch. Highly recommend. If you like surrealism/magic realism you've found a gem.

The 1932 play, a tragedy in three acts and seven scenes, “Blood Wedding,” by Federico Garcia Lorca, is exciting and a joy to read. Lorca was a Spanish poet, theatre director, and playwright born in 1898. During the Spanish Civil War, the right-wing Spanish military assassinated him in 1936 when he was 38. He was suspected of being left-wing and was disliked because he was a homosexual. He is considered one of Spain’s greatest poets. The play’s title, “Blood Wedding,” reflects the defloration of the wedding night, the mingling of the blood of rivals, and the blood which flowed because of the rivalry. A girl is at the marriage ceremony to marry a lovely man. But she is in love with another man, a man married to another woman. The new bride and her lover rush from the wedding, hoping to be together henceforth. They are pursued.

This is the most worthless, pointless, and boring book ever. it has no real plot or message/meaning. It is too short to be considered a book and two long to be a poem. Just stupid
