great resource for both parents and teachers!
As a former elementary schoolteacher (USA), I believe the title of this book should include the word “Teachers” and be required reading for everyone who is a year or two away from graduating with a degree in education. It should also be required reading for all current teachers who do not teach Special Ed.As a homeschooling mom to a child with ADHD and dyslexia, I have been looking for books written by competent experts who can give me some ideas on to best help my son move forward with his education. This one is at the top of my list. Above all, the author has helped me to feel that I am not alone in this journey, and provided me with ideas on where to go for further support, if necessary. Also, I have to say that I love how she uses the word "difficulty" rather than "disability/disabled."If Veronica ever reads this review, I would like to point out that it’s “try TO”, not “try AND.” A grammatical pet peeve of mine, sorry. ;)That aside, this book is well worth your read if you are a parent of a child who is struggling academically, as well as any elementary or secondary teacher out there.

This will take me awhile to finish..
It's is like reading an encyclopedia....very specific. The authors do mention that it should be used as a reference book. Well written and includes lots of interesting fact and theory.

Every parent should read this book!
I have read just about everything I can get my hands on regarding Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. There typically isn't a lot of information available, and when there is, I have usually read it all before. This book is FULL of new, pertinent, helpful information! I started out planning to read just the Dyscalculia chapter, but was so impressed, I am now reading it cover to cover. Any parent whose child is struggling in school and they are not sure why should read this book. The answers are most likely in here. Not only does it tell you what to look for it also gives great information regarding remediation for any of their learning difficulties. This book is one of the best I have read. I have no doubt that I will re-visit often. Thank you for such a complete and thorough book.
