How concise and informative, in a fun way! Great illustrations!

This is a fun way to learn about the weather and groundhogs and other mammals. My grandchildren loved this book.

I will start by saying that the other reviews are spot on about the book being cute and rather informative. The facts are great and I came away, as an adult, with more knowledge than I had going in. What I did not like about the book is the way it is written and that is just based on my personal preference... nothing wrong with the book itself but I thought it was worth mentioning in case there are others like me out there. I really dislike when a book is written through speech bubbles and most of this story is written just that way. All of the different characters have something to say and they all say it in their own little speech bubbles. As a teacher of young children and a mom I find that the kids tend to lose interest in this type of format and I, as the reader, am having to point to each character to be sure the children understand who is saying what. I prefer a story that is written out, especially when reading aloud to more than one child at a time. With that being said, it will probably be an enjoyable and fun read for an older child who is able to read on his/her own.Overall, a cute and informative story. Again though, I definitely thought it was worth mentioning the format as I didn't notice any of the other reviews mentioning it. If they had I definitely would have kept searching for another book.

Fun book for my 4 year old - interesting weather and groundhog facts, clever puns, and it's great at managing expectations for Groundhogs Day predictions by showing it's hard to predict the weather.

This is an excellent book for children that not only tells them fun facts about groundhogs, but about the weather in general. It is very engaging and has a lot of humor in it for the adults too. There is a lot of info in this picture book, so I did not read it in one sitting. Parents may want to break it up over a few days. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I started celebrating Groundhog Day many years ago and continue with cards. Now that the granddaughter is here, I have added gifts even though we started celebrating all those years ago "because you don't have to give gifts on groundhogs day." Oh, well, another modified tradition. Anyway, granddaughter Ruby loved the book and jumped right into it (she's 6 now). Interesting info about both weather and groundhogs. Great book for kids.

Perfect for reading to the little ones!

I have a yearly Groundhogs day celebration with my Grandchildren, this book is great for early elementary ages ; This year we are using calendars to track the weather for 6 weeks to see if the Ground hog was correct! Afun way to tie some science into their lives in faun way!

This book was a great addition to our hibernation theme. It arrived within two days, perfect!
