Macbeth (Signature Shakespeare) Hardcover – May 1, 2012

I came across Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet by surprise at a Samuel French store here in Los Angeles. I've already read all of Shakespeare's works so I had no intention of purchasing any more; however, when I saw the beautiful laser cut designs on the front of these books I just had to take a look. The design is just incredible. I've never seen any book that looked like this. Just beautiful to hold, and the inside just leaves you breathless. So, I went home and immediately purchased them through Amazon. A few days later, they are now in my personal library and something I will treasure forever. I think readers will be appreciative that the plays are clearly defined. Each play includes a full history of the work. You can tell a lot of hard work went into making these books, and it really pays off. I understand that the publishers are deciding whether to issue all the plays based on the sales of these books. I really hope people take a look and spread the word to get them. Not only will you not be disappointed, but hopefully they will complete the entire series. I am so happy to have these in my collection, and can't wait to show them off to my friends and family. I'd give this ten stars if it was available!

I first bought a "Barnes & Noble" Shakespeare for my son, in their shop, because the edition recommended by his school had sold out &, to me, as a lover of Shakespeare, their version looked good. My son found that version, with commentary, so much better than the school's recommended version he has asked me to buy the Barnes & Noble's version of every Shakespeare play he has taken since. Again, though it is not the school's recommended copy, this was the copy he wanted & he is very happy with the result.

The book was what the dealer said it was, very nice, like new. Help in a class I took.

I think this guy has a future in the arts. He writes so well he makes me feel inferior. Scary play. Don't read it if blood and witches scare you.

The quality of the book, the illustrations are--the word cannot be avoided--magical. A lovely addition to any collection. William would have been proud.

The Barnes and Noble edition was not good. The book seems old and has dust in it’s papers as shown in the picture attached. I am kind of disappointed but there is one solace that the pages on the inside is good and mark free though it looks kind of used.

You know what you're expecting when you buy this. It's Macbeth. The story hasn't changed. That's a good thing. If you haven't read Macbeth yet, don't buy this. This is not for first-time readers. If you're a fan of Macbeth. Buy it. It's an exceptionally beautiful hardcover you can proudly display at home. In fact, while you're at it, pick up the rest of the series.

understanding william was so easy with attractive graphics and page wise explanation of the text . Further the page texture and the hard cover is commendable.
