Good idea with some pros and a few cons
The concept of this product is very good, and makes growing healthy micro greens fun and convenient. You need to keep in mind this kit is meant to grow micro greens in 10 days that will be harvested at the end of that time. This much this kit does do, but there are alternatives that will supply you with micro greens that will continue to grow after you harvest them. All of the necessary components are supplied for growing 3 crops of micro greens - the Grow Book that supplies lighting, the growing medium, the growing trays, and the seeds. Setting up this kit was very easy, and the instructions were sufficient for each crop. The automatic timer should turn the lights on for 16 hours on from the time you plug it in and then turn them off for 8 hours. Since the timer in the unit I received did not work, I contacted the seller, and they did send me a replacement kit that has a working timer for the lights. The pros of this kit are: - Easy to set up - Lighting is provided that includes a timer for optimum growth - Additional kits are available that include 3 trays, 3 growing medium disks, and seeds of your choice - Includes a daily check list for each species of seeds grownThe cons of this kit are: - Considering the costs, the amount of micro greens harvested is expensive - The grow trays are very shallow, so don't allow growth for much more than 10 days - There is no drainage in the grow trays, so the recommended watering can keep roots too wet if left more than 10 days - Replacement kits must be bought for future crops that include trays, growing medium, and seedsThe Grow Book is fun and a good way to get you started with eating healthy micro greens in small quantities. If you should decide that you want to grow more at one time, it is more economical to grow them in small flats under inexpensive LED lighting that include timed lighting which can easily be found on Amazon. The last picture I provided is a flat of micro greens I am growing under LED lighting. When grown with drainage and space for roots to grow, micro greens can be harvested multiple times, and one small flat can remain healthy for harvesting for a few months. To be honest, I will grow the seeds that were included with this kit, but I wouldn't buy this kit or the refill kits in the future.UPDATE 07/31/19:The last two pictures are of the arugula crop after about 3 weeks. At this point in time, one of the two sets of LED lights has burned out and the crop of arugula is dying. Although the instructions indicate to add 1/4 cup of water from the 3rd day to the 9th day, at the end of this time, the crop had been grossly over watered and the roots started to rot. After only two weeks, I poured off almost 1/2 cup of excess water. Although I did harvest a few small leaves, the crop never got over 2 inches in height whereas healthy micro green can grow to 4 inches so that the top half can be harvested leaving the rest to regrow. Refills are available for the Grow Book, but what good are they if the timer on the base unit doesn't work and the LED lights burn out in less than a month? Personally, I can't recommend this grow kit for micro green. You would be better off to buy the basic components separately and have something that will last. In the long run, this solution would be much more economical and you will have healthy micro greens that will last you for much longer.UPDATE 08/11/19:The second crop I planted in the Grow Book was white radishes which germinated well except that some seeds were slower than others. The last picture shows this crop at 10 days. The plants have very elongated stems indicating insufficient lighting needed for more compact growth. At 10 days, this crop had long stems with two seed leaves at the top, and seeds that germinated later are smaller and competing for light. I will summarize this review by saying that this kit would be good for people with limited space who don't have time for maintaining plants and want to improve their diet with micro greens. It is not the most economical way to grow micro greens, but works fine if your space and time are limited. This is also not a method of growing micro greens that you can use them over time as needed. They should be used within within a week or so after the 10 day growing period as there is not enough growing medium to maintain the plants for an extended period of time. For my family of 3, having salads every day, I can deplete the grow in 4 days. After this, the remaining plants look very poor.I hope this review was helpful for you, and I will update this review if my experience with the kit changes.

So easy to grow-- and tasty microgreens! Highly recommended!
I've been studying about microgreens lately. I learned that most microgreens have anywhere from 4 to 40 times the amount of nutrition in those small stocks and leaves. I stumbled upon this cute looking kit and ordered it. Opening it up, it looked very high end, as another reviewer said. Almost like an Apple product!Added the compressed soil to a 1/4 cup water in the cute garden box. Dropped in the soil and it exploded into a nice bit of growing soil. Next step I opened the pack of seeds and sprinkled them around. I slightly pushed them down to anchor them. Left then covered for 3 days as directed (I almost missed that part!). On the fourth day I opened it up and there were all these cute little buds growing. I plugged in the LED light and the first morning it didn't go on automatically, I had to plug it in. THE SECRET TO MAKING THE LIGHT AUTOMATIC IS TURN IT ON BEFORE 6:00AM! After I plugged it in before 6 it went to automatic after that.Yesterday we had microgreens on our salads. Wife was so happy about that and wants to get another grow book! I say, yes! Beyond that, we have decided to expand our indoor microgarden and will buy other brands to try out. This was a great way to get introduced to indoor gardening! By the way, we had the radish microgreens on a salad and today on our tuna sandwich and it was delicious! It's nice to eat your own organically grown greens, and a fun little hobby we're going to start doing on a larger basis. I also bought another brand so stay tuned for that review. Highly recommended!

Simple, easy and complete system with easy directions
Excellent product. The grow book includes step by step instructions that are very easy to follow and thoughtfully presented. I am impressed with the completeness and simplicity of the growing kit or “grow book”. I am three days in to my first growing of micro arugula and have completed the germination cycle and just placed under lights. There are helpful cards included with the kit to check your progress and instructions with pictures. It’s a micro greens kit in a box - literally. The instructions remind me of the step by step recipe cards that you get with meal delivery programs. The presentation is really well executed and kudos to the company for what they have put together. There were three sets of micro greens included in the package. It is a pretty quick growing cycle and fun to watch, but I’m not sure the volume of what grows is very much. The grow book is more of a fun novelty to supplement other greens and grow something in a compact space. It would make a nice gift for that person that is hard to buy for. It appears you can buy additional seed kits to supplement the book. You can probably pull together the pieces to do this for cheaper, but why bother? They have pulled it all together in a cute compact system. I recommend this product.

Great product would love a upscale version too
Great product! looks as in the pictures and has everything you need to get started! Micro greens have sprouted and look so much better than my traditional micro greens grown in a jar. Only complaint while not a complaint is it’s made of coated cardboard like a hardcover book. Great for the environment compared to plastic but I would have loved the option to pay extra for a Wooden version and maybe a timer on the lights. Besides that it’s awesome and I’m debating getting more.

Cool product
This is a fun product and process to growing your own table top micro greens. The directions were easy to follow and my sprouts grew very easily. Only complaint is that the mechanism in the lid to plug the light into, was pretty finicky and sometimes too up to 5 minutes just to get the port into the mechanism just right to turn on
