Why did I wait to buy this amazing tablet?
The first tablet I dipped my toe in the water with was an Acer Iconia. I chose Acer because I have used their laptops and have always been happy with them, so it was for my peace of mind I chose another Acer for a tablet. However once owned I was delighted with it but never used it much, the 7" was too small for me, some of the things I wanted to use it for where not easy to see or navigate, so in the drawer it went and stayed.However I never got rid of the wanting I had for a tablet, my laptop, which I was so amazed at after ditching the old desktop years ago, seemed bulky now and took up too much room, so I went on the hunt for exactly what I wanted, a tablet big enough to see and use with ease yet powerful enough, and affordable. I may say here, me and techy stuff are like oil and water, a 60 year old woman who has no idea what I am doing other than pressing the on off button, I was daunted and lost. I saw this and saved it on my wish list, and kept coming back to look and look, until I took the plunge. it was calling to me almost, so I ordered it.It arrived the next day and blimey, was I impressed. It set itself up for me, all I needed to do was input my router password and there it was, a shiny, big, really clever tablet, and I was in love with it.I have had it 3 days now, and I can do everything my laptop does for me. The apps are easy to navigate, easy to see, and so easy to use now. You do however need a stand or a standing cover, it is a bit heavy if you are watching something on it, and you will, the graphics on films and videos are superb, the sound is lovely, and the front facing speakers really are a surround delight.I am still learning the bones of it but to be honest, I dont need half the stuff it is packed with, so maybe I never will discover what they do, but if I need it, I know I could probably find it there.I have just cleaned and checked my laptop, now I am going to put it away, I dont need it now, I have my favourite ever bit of tech, and I dont think I will ever fall out of love with it.If you are dithering, as I was, go for it, it has been likened to, or surpassed the Apple brands, and going by those who know about these things, its a winner for them too.Had this a few weeks now, still in love with it, I now know what the apps do, I installed netfix as amazons films will not play on this nor will sky go, but apart from those two things, nothing has stopped me doing or watching whatever I want. Laptop still still in the cupboard its just there as backup. Highly recommended tablet.

Galaxy Note 10.1
update October 2013.I have been using this for a couple of months now and love it, no change from my original review, my additional info is regarding connectivity, which I have found is a problem. because the USB multi connector is on the bottom you cannot connect things to it when it is in its stand/case. you need a dock. You try and find one that does more than charge without having to carry loads of accessories. The Samsung looks good but does not connect to multimedia devices, it will only charge. it needs a multimedia docking station. Other than that I love it, still 5 stars but buyers need to be aware of this annoyance.This is a brilliant device, I have been using it for 2 weeks now getting it configured the way I want it and I cannot fault the device. watching movies, email, internet, calendar synced with my laptop (windows) I had better declare at this point that I do not like being controlled by a device and therefore do not like Apple ithings. There are criticisms on other reviews on this device but they are not a problem that has affected me. Nothing is perfect but I think this is as perfect as you can get. I know it is not the cheapest but compared to an ipad better value. As a photographer it displays my photographs brilliantly.Highly recommended, get one you will not be disappointed

Excellent tablet, best I've seen.
Having used the ipad I personally feel this tablet is superior in almost every way. It's easier to use and has great functionality. For the price I expected the screen to be of a higher quality but it still looks great, the apps are really useful too but there are many apple exclusive apps.It's made out of plastic which makes it very light, but leaves it feeling cheap and a little bit flimsy. There's a micro SD card slot which allows you to greatly expand the memory making it great for files and media being able to expand the memory by up to 64gb.The movie rentals on the app store are too expensive, and in this day and age where everything can be downloaded illegally there's no incentive to buy or rent from the app store when I could just download something for free or rent it from my local dvd store much cheaper. I'd reccomend this tablet over any other.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 inch
I have had the note for a while now and it is great (when I can get my hands on it!) The kids are forever playing various app games on it from the goggle app store. It is easy to use, connects easily to wifi and is great for browsing the web. The pen comes in useful for drawing and note taking and it has a decent battery life if you remember to turn wifi and apps off when not using it.I haven't explored everything on it yet but the note side of it seems to have a lot going for it when you learn all it's functions.The screen quality is excellent. I bought a Samsung case to go with it which protects it perfectly well. I have had to buy a new charger though since the old one stopped working somehow. Definitely recommend it!

I'm really not happy - lesson learnt
Very unhappy with my purchase. A month after the warranty ran out the tablet went kapput. I wouldn't mind if we'd used it to death but the fact is that it was only used occasionally and was kept in a very expensive bullet proof case throughout its time with us. Samsung offered to trade it in against a new tablet but when they put the serial number into their system it came back as UN-verifyable. The tablet is either stolen, fake or has been previously registered as being traded in. Have just called Amazon and they say that they cannot help. I'm really not happy - lesson learnt...............buy electronics from the original manufacturer rather than through an online reseller like Amazon.
