Highly recommend
This is a long one, but it's worth the read if you're doing some serious shopping for a vacuum cleaner: I picked this up in October so I've been using it for a few months just to get a genuine sense of how this vacuum really performed and I am absolutely impressed! This beats my Dyson AND my Kirby hands down. Superior suction, amazing maneuverability, lighter than either the Kirby or the Dyson. ( If you're wondering why I own so many vacuums, I clean for a living.) I bought this for the house. I have two cats and a husband who's into Warhammer so you know there are sprew bits and cat hair everywhere and this thing handles it like a champ! I wasn't sold on how small the floor attachment was until I used it: I can get underneath my barstools so much easier now and my entire house ( approx. 2000 sq ft.) is done in 20 minutes, tops! There is a learning curve, but that's something you get with any new vacuum. I was also super impressed by the ease with which I can switch from floor to handheld attachments. Some of these other vacuums I've used are so bulky and difficult to handle all the small attachments... Not this one! I'm able to switch back and forth from floor to handheld quick, fast and in a hurry. Bonus points that it's lightweight. I'm not killing myself just to vacuum my house. It's really saved my back! And it was so much less expensive than the Dyson or the Kirby. The window on the floor attachment gives me a clear view of the roller brush ( yeah, it makes me accountable which is a good thing. It's harder to ignore when I can see it so thanks for that, too. ). The cord is a tad short, so I went ahead a bought a small extension cord to go with it, but other than that, I'm very impressed! I wish I had bought this years ago. I will never buy another vacuum from anyone else other than Shark again. Good job, guys! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serious little vacuum.

At a loss for words
Warning, it's a long read, but I wanted to go into deep detail. To start, I have been a Rainbow vacuum user for so long. I love them and felt they worked amazingly. Next, I have 3 dogs & a cat. One is a thick coat lab and the cat sheds so much as well. Another next, I have horrible allergies and wanted something that would help keep them calm as well. I also have a lung disease and need something that will pick up as much junk as possible to keep them clear. Now, on to the Shark vacuum. I got tired of lugging around the Rainbow and wanted to look into a vacuum that my daughter could use and help out. I found this Shark vacuum and 6 others that grabbed my attention. I dug deep. I read through every review, good, bad, indifferent. I wanted a vacuum that was going to truly pick up pet hair/dander, as well as pick up sand & dirt. I was drawn to this specific vacuum saying pet & allergen vacuum and loved that so many of the reviews said it had amazing suction power. I thought there's no way ut can be as amazing as most were raving about. After 2 months of digging and narrowing down vacuums, I was left with this one. I finally decided to purchase it and see what all the fuss was about. It came in today and I immediately out it together to the it out. I had just vacuumed with my Rainbow vacuum 2 days before, so I didn't expect much. Oh....my....gosh...! I am blown away! Seriously, no joke! The picture you see attached was after 2 passes over a 2' x 2' area in my living room. Not kidding...pushed it forward, pulled it back. Did this one other time. I was completely astonished! There is no way my carpet is that dirty after using my Rainbow 2 days before! I swore by that vacuum and how great of a job it did, so I thought. This vacuum pulled out dirt, sand, pet fur from 3 families ago, it seems lol. I immediately took this picture and dumped the resivoir since it was full. I was excited to finish the rest of my living room and then move on to the rest of the house. It took me 30 minutes to vacuum my living room because I had to keep stopping to empty the reservoir. I am grossed out that it was that dirty, but so grateful that I purchased this Shark vacuum. The vacuum is super easy to put together. It's not heavy and is easy to use. I love that it has the large vacuum and the option to break it down to a hand held vacuum to get baseboards and hard to reach areas. I also love that the power switch has 3 positions; Off, Bare floor, and carpet. I love that there is a place on the vacuum for hose attachments. I love that the power cable is quite long. I love that it's compact enough to fit in my coat closet, but large enough to vacuum the living room quicker than the sport vacuum. It makes vacuuming a breeze. The price is amazing for being a Shark vacuum. This vacuum is so amazing that I finished vacuuming, rinsed the resivoir and filter, put it away, and immediately sat down to write this review. Seriously give this vacuum a try! Your only regret is that you didn't get it sooner. I will update this review if anything changes. I am convinced this is the perfect vacuum.

So far seems to be quality and is easy to maneuver, lighweight.
The vacuum cleaner is light weight and easy to maneuver because it has a very small suction base. It can fit into tighter spaces but at the same time isn't covering a lot of territory with the narrow span. The cord is annoyingly short, requiring relocating to a new outlet before finishing a room. The cord is also poorly placed, necessitating a holding of it to avoid running over it and/or tripping on it. It seems to have good suction. The dirt, especially pet hair, gets hung up in the collection bin and has to be fished out. It does seem overall to be good quality and does function well. It's only been in use a few times, but so far it has worked well. With mostly hard surface floors and high-shedding pets, there's a need for frequent vacuuming. Time will tell how it holds up. It picks things up well, but another annoying issue is that it's not an easy transition from hard surface to carpet or rugs. It requires bending to push a button to change to new surface, just a minor inconvenience, but better vacuum cleaners make one spoiled for the less user-friendly models.

Amazing vacuum. Beats out my older Bissell 2999.
I actually was in the market for a new vacuum as there were parts breaking on my Bissell 2999. (Dust buildup inside the motor housing leading to bearing whine, brush roller wear that required modification to prevent additional damage, as well as handle damage that prevented the vacuum handle from staying locked in place and later being unable to be removed as it got jammed slightly at an angle.) Moving on, this is actually a step up, despite having got it at a substantially lower price (99 dollars verse the original Bissell 2999 price being around 200 dollars.) I wanted something that people praised for higher reliability, and this advertised a limited 5 year warranty. I got it, because 99 for a well reviewed vacuum was excellent in idea. I then looked at reviews all over the internet only to find out more and more that the Shark NV360 was way better than expected. My only caveats to date are that it has a smaller agitator head, and that it doesn't come with a agitator attachment, you'd need to get the Pro version NV356E to get the agitator attachment. It does come with a smaller crevasse tool and a very functional upholstery tool that also worked very very well on the stairs. Suction on this vacuum is amazing. Especially compared to my Bissell 2999. I have Hoover and Bissell Vacuums, and the 2999 was better than my previous vacuums, but oddly not better than this current one from Shark, the NV360 just to keep things clear. The hose diameter is larger, and that typically means less pressure for most vacuums, however, that is not the case here. You really need to be careful when using the attachments as it will suck up a sock you may have got too close too and it'll all be too fast to recover from anywhere other than the dust bin. Emptying the dustbin is more involved than my Bissell and Hoover vacuums, where a single button press allows you to pull the bin from its' resting place. In the case of the Shark, you will need to undo two latches that secure the bin in place, but while I thought this would be a bigger problem it has not been. Installing the bin has been a bigger issue than removing it but the process is still really simple. The dual latch does offer the better seal though as it allows for more uniform pressure on the seal under neath and keeps the dust flowing down. It does seem that the foam prefilter would need more cleans than my Bissell 2999 required, but I found that dust released from the Bissell system would agitate my nose a touch, because allergies, while I have had zero incidents of that with the shark. (The Bissell 2999 was still the best I had before I got this NV360 for allergies I experienced, I just thought it was because it was kicking something up but dust patterns formed later in its' life showing it was some dust leakage.) Moving this around is easier than the Bissell 2999 as well, but that is partially because the base is smaller. Both were swivel style vacuums but the NV360 does better on tighter turns than the Bissell. The smaller head seems to also focus more of the dust into the dust bin. Going over areas the Bissell seamed done with, I found that there was still a ton of dirt and dust embedded into the carpet even after 8 passes with the Bissell. I only knew there was more because even though I wasn't getting anything more on the 8th pass with the Bissell, going over the same area with the NV360 showed there was still a lot of dust left in the carpet. The Bissell did get all the dog hair though and there was only dust and dirt that the shark was able to extract. (This also lead me to do a carpet clean though, as I have a Bissel carpet cleaner that I really like and I finished the job with that.) My lesson learned though is that even with a great vacuum like the Shark or my previous best Bissell, you may have to vacuum more often than every 3-4 days as that dirt just keeps getting deeper if you dont. Moving on, I am actually very impressed and absolutely can recommend this vacuum to anyone who needs something better. I absolutely can recommend it to anyone who has allergies like me as well. Best vacuum to date. Side note though, when researching vacuums, I did find that the Shark Stratos and Rotator options are more amazing when it comes to airflow and pressure as well as large objects and long hair, but they are between 200 and 300 dollars. For me this is the best option for now, especially seeing it was only 99 dollars when I got it.

Shark Navigator Vacuum Cleaner is THE BEST!
The SHARK UPRIGHT NAVIGATOR is the BEST vacuum cleaner I have ever purchased! I love the way it lets me navigate all around my furniture, I love that it lets me clean underneath my tables, and I love how POWERFUL the suction is! I thought my fully-carpeted small house was clean when the Navigator arrived, but after one use, the LARGE clear canister on this machine was FULL. The carpet was so much cleaner, and it has a setting for hard floors also. The difference in cleaning was amazing. My old vacuum was okay, but this thing is AMAZING. My allergies can feel the wonderful difference too! And the machine is easy to maneuver, even for a small woman like me. Shipping was SO FAST with Amazon Prime, the seller's price was great, and I was able to assemble and USE my new Navigator in 2 minutes. I highly recommend this vacuum to everyone! A great house gift to give to anyone, and for yourself! Enjoy :)

The suction power alone is worth five stars, but I still have some quibbles
I thought our full-size Dyson was powerful, but this blows (or maybe sucks) it away. So its strongest point is suction, which is the main purpose of a vacuum. Another strong point: it feels like a high quality product, and the clips and latches that hold parts together seem sturdy. (Breakable plastic parts were a sore point on our Dyson.) Gripes: it's more narrow than I like, so it takes longer to clean a large area. Also, the more useful tools (brushes, etc.) are an extra-cost option (basic tools are included). The dust container is easy to empty, EXCEPT that the design allows some debris (dog hair) to collect in a narrow spot, so keep a flat tool (like a long comb) handy to pull that out when emptying the bin. Final (and maybe most important) point: the suction is wonderful on hard floors and most carpets, but on a particularly plush carpet, the suction is so strong that it's very difficult to push the vacuum. Putting it in hard floor mode (which turns off the beater) helps, but not enough. We have to use a less powerful stick vac in our bedroom, because that room has a deep plush carpet.

It is VERY hard to push
First of all let me start out by saying that I am a perfectionist. My kids will tell you, my husband will tell you and pretty much anyone who knows me will tell you that I when I pay good money for some thing I want it to work well. That with my hope with the shark navigator lift away. I have owned one of these in the past and I don’t remember much about it other than I wasn’t crazy about it Way back then and promised myself I would never buy another one and I didn’t for a long time up until now . I thought with all the Positive reviews and all of the new technology in recent years that the shark would live up to the reviews that it has here on Amazon. I was wrong or at least I think I was wrong. I literally just received the vacuum today. It’s also important to note that I have hardwood floors all throughout the downstairs of my 4500 square-foot home. All of the hardwood is covered with area rugs that are dark colors mainly because we built our house in 2005 and dark colors were in at that time. So, when we adopted two all White Rescue dogs, one of each one of which is very large and very hairy and sheds constantly, I never knew I would be vacuuming two and sometimes three times a day just to get rid of the hair. With that being said I needed a decent vacuum that could pick up pet hair easily and that is how this vacuum advertises itself. I now have three vacuums but most of the ones I bought in the past were disposable. If get a full year out of them that is a lot. I’m not talking about cheap 75 or $85.00 vacuums. I am talking about vacuums that are $175.00 or more. I noticed some that might not think that $ 200 is an expensive vacuum and I guess it isn’t compared to the vacuums like Dyson and the other $1000 plus vacuums but to me $200 is still a decent amount of money and for that price I should get a decent vacuum. My past three vacuums have all been Bissells. I bought my first one about three years ago and was very happy with it so when it konked out I continued to buy that brand. . I still think it’s a good vacuum for the price but they honestly don’t last more than a year at the most and I’m getting tired of doing nothing but buying vacuums every six months so I thought I would try The shark and give it another shot, especially after all of the good reviews it got on Amazon. I jus5 received it today. My husband took it out of the box and put it together in less than 5 minutes. I immediately tried to vacuum up the tons of white long-haired wired fur for that sticks into my area rugs from one of my rescues. In all honesty this brand new vacuum did not work much better than my one year-old Bissell vacuum, which was extremely annoying to me , but the thing that really irked me after opening it ( I did not know this before I bought it and probably would not have bought if had known) is that it doesn’t have a retractable cord. I can’t begin to tell you what a pain in the neck it is t wind up a cord especially one on a $200 vacuum. All of my Bissell’s have had retractable cords. I can’t understand why that is such a problem for shark because I’ve checked out pretty much all their brands and all of them have windable cords at least all the brands that have cords. . Anyway enough about the cord now let me talk to you about the vacuum itself. I think any brand new vacuum is gonna be great at picking up dog hair, after all it’s brand new. This one worked well but it was extremely hard to push on my area rugs. Also, at the end of the rugs where all the dog hair seems to gather, I had to push the vacuum at least three or four times to get up ALL the hair that accumulated there . It was very frustrating especially with how heavy this thing is to push!,, it’s not a Light back in by any means. When I read the reviews on Amazon, one reviewer said that the vacuum glides through their house !!! All I could think of is that they don’t have any rugs they’re vacuums and it’s gliding on hardwood because it definitely does not glide on area rugs !!! In fact I ended up with a backache after I just vacuumed only my kitchen and sunroom. The Bissel was also a hard to push vacuum with but again it’s a less expensive vacuum and It did the job so I never really complained about it. I’m still going to hold onto this vacuum because I do like the idea of being able to lift away the canister and vacuum the stairs which was definitely a pain with the Bissell. To try to lug it up the stairs and back down again when I was done. And I have a lot of stairs!! I will try to update my review After I’ve used the Shark everal more times I will let you know what I think but for now I am not overly impressed . it’s just my opinion . I guess it’s because I have a lot of continual dog hair that impedes itself in my rugs So it is probably a lot more for someone like me to vacuum than someone who doesn’t have any dogs or dogs that do not shed. Oh, yes there is one more thing I do you want to mention .The head on the vacuum is much smaller than the head of the vacuum on my Bissell But I don’t think that’s a bad thing because it does actually get more places that my Bissell could not reach but again as far as ease-of-use it is definitely not easy to use.

Best vacuum I have ever bought
I’ve had my $300 bissell vacuum for 3 years, I love it I felt like I had the best vacuum on the market. It’s all hardwood on main floor and carpet 2nd floor. Got tired of carrying the vacuum back and forth so I looked for something new and not too expensive- and oh, my gawd. This vacuum knocks my pride & joy out of the water! The suction- the suction is POWERFUL. My carpets haven’t had that brand-new look since we got it installed. this vacuum gives you the “lines” and cleans all the way to the floorboards. It’s extremely light weight and I love how the brush stops rolling automatically if you go off the carpet to harder surfaces… my house never goes 2 days without being vacuumed so I couldn’t believe when I used this and saw how much dirt it was picking up. We usually dump the tank weekly, I had to before I was even done my first round upstairs. I forgot how much I missed those vacuum lines! Ok now the stairs: this unit has two attachments one flat square one and an extended pointy one to get every crack and crevice. It’s so easy just to put on the carpet stair attachment and zoom down it takes half the time we used to spend doing the stairs and again I cannot believe how much crap it pulled up. This shark vacuum just gave my carpets another life seeing how clean it got everything! About a year ago my pride n joy bissell started making weird noises so I took it to a vacuum shop and the owner asked me if I ever considered getting a shark vacuum and now I know why…This is my first shark device ever and I truly will only buy this brand from now on!
