I am Walt Disney (Ordinary People Change the World)

This book does not disappoint. We love all of the Ordinary people change the world books, highly recommend! I loved watching the kids see some of the history behind some of their favorite Disney movies. And they always include some real snapshots and a time line in the back. My kids LOVE this feature!I find myself tearing up as we read, the books have history and inspiration and I get emotional as I read words of encouragement to my kids. Messages about embracing your truth, following your dreams and never giving up- amazing. They make great gifts too!

With a subject that we think we know everything about this book manages to shed sooooo much new light and depth. Walt Disney is so much around us in every way, but here is where me and my family got to know him as a person.AND, delivered in the magnificent and adorable art that Chris Eliopoulos always provides. It just explodes with warmth and charm on every page.(Story and art go so hand in hand is this series. )A must read!!!

I should start this by saying we’re a big Disney family, so much so we named our youngest, Walter. When buying this, I thought mainly of him (he’s 2) and thought it’d be a great book to read to him.Upon getting the book I loved the colorful pictures but was really taken back at the amount of words on each page. It’s definitely not something for him at his age, and not even sure if any of my kids, up to age 8 would really enjoy it.I think they only would reach for it if they needed to do a book report on Walt Disney. And for that, I gave it three stars. It went from being something I thought we read nightly to just hoping it’ll come in handy someday with school.

I received this book yesterday and had my grandchildren (ages 5,3,2) open the package. They were very excited because they have had other books about Disney read to them. Every turn of the page was a new reason for them to listen and discuss. It offers a lot of good information about Walt Disney and also the reason one should keep trying to innovate even when other people doubt them.This is the fourth book in this series I’ve purchased. None of them disappoint. I can’t wait to own the whole set!

I ordered this book after hearing an interview with the author. I was not disappointed! The series name "ordinary people change the world" is the perfect way to describe the books. It is very well written, easy to understand, and it keeps my kiddo's attention. And the cartoon format is awesome! Truth be told, my husband and I like the books, too.We enjoyed this book so much, we ordered several more of the series. And we look forward to more being published in the future!

I enjoyed the book and learning about Walt's early childhood. He had to work hard. I can understand that as I can relate to it. I read the book to my granddaughter while on a plane going to Orlando to Disneyworld. I think it was a bit too deep for her. Maybe I'm wrong, but she did have to do a report on it for school which she did.

Heard about these on Glenn Beck's BlazeTV and immediately purchased a few for my granddaughters. The six year old had already read several from the library and was thrilled to get the order in the mail. They are being home schooled so they make great first entry level history books for them. Very pleased with purchase.

My granddaughter and I really found this biography about Walt Disney to be very interesting. The biography is well written and the illustrations are very good too. Any child who loves Disneyland, Disney World, and Disney movies, will find this book to be extremely entertaining. I think this includes most children. Who doesn’t want to learn about Walt Disney? I highly recommend this biography for 5 to 8 year old children.

These fairly thin and short booklets are not cheap. BUT.. they are really, really nice!. And of very good quality.This unusual children’s book narrative about a very famous character that we all know is super attractively illustrated.The storyline is clear, interesting and well-told in with comic-book text prints. Yet in such a manner that children can relate to the main character while they learn about the era that Walt grew up in as well.The colourful hard covered booklet is simply presented in an excellent manner. And makes a brilliant present.Our daughter is a little older than the target audience at 9 years of age already into more serious literature. However she already has a few other books in this range and she adores each of these books. She has also been reading them to her younger brother - who is more interested in the colours and pictures than in Walt Disney himself.The range of topics in this series can’t be praised enough. The good thing is that they address famous historical characters other than the usual megalomical white conquerors that we learned about at school.Our children will be treated on more of these books.The only thing is that the amount and choice of books in the series is decent but not that extensive yet.Curious to see where the next books will take us.

Bought this as soon as I heard about it and had to patiently await its release. Was worried my 4 year old wouldn’t be a fan but he loves it and keeps asking for it.

My daughters 5, 9, & 10 all love this series. (Though it bugs them that the person profiled is drawn as a child throughout the entire story, even when talking about their adult life!) They found Walt Disney’s story to be quite interesting and kept pestering me with fun facts from it.
