I'm very happy!!
I purchased this grinder last year in November, it stopped powering on in December. I came to amazon and made a bad review assuming it was broken. I simply ordered another grinder, smaller version, because i need it for business purposes, and put this one on the shelf. My new one stopped working in January. This time I reached out to the seller because I couldn't afford to keep buying grinders. Long story short, the seller assisted me with the very simple reason my first grinder wouldn't power on and also replaced my newer smaller version with no problem. I am very pleased with the customer service that I was provided. The carbon filter on this grinder needed to be replaced, in which, it arrived with several extras so it was a simple fix and now both of my grinders are running perfectly again.

This thing works.
I got this grinder a few days ago. The first thing I did was to re-grind a spice mix I had made up previously. It did a very good job. The resulting mix was much more finely ground that I could get with a small coffee grinder. The grinder comes with a small paint brush. It is needed to clean out the grinding portion. It IS difficult to clean, but I think it will be better with experience. The noise level is high, but not obnoxious. If I were going to use it for hours a day, most days I'd probably get a different brand that is quieter, or would build an enclosure for it. But for 3 or 4 minutes twice a week? Its fine.UPDATE: Doesn't work anymore. I think the engine overheated, but it shouldn't have. I never put more than one cup of material in the thing.I just did 2 cups of Red Wheat Berries to make bread in my breadmaker. The first time, I put too much berries in and the consistency of the flour was fairly coarse after 1.5 minutes of grinding. The unit also heated up quite a bit. I split the coarse flour in 2 batches (about 1.75 cup each) and ran it again for 1.5 minutes. GIN! The flour came out roughly the consistency of King Arthur White Bread Flour. The unit got hot, but there was air being circulated. Without the overload at first, I don't think there would have been a problem.Always before, I'd used White Bread flour and the basic recipe on Rapid or full bake depending on my time constraints. This time I used the basic recipe and Rapid bake because I felt the bread would be better on full bake and I wanted a worse case scenario. The bread came out PERFECT. The loaf was slightly smaller than it would have been with KA bread flour (about 85% the size) but the taste was really great. Much better flavor than white Bread flour.I estimate that the bread from this unit will cost roughly $1.65 a loaf ... 75 cents a loaf for red wheat, 70 cents for 10 minutes labor (grinding and mixing 10 minutes), 10 cents for incidentals. Loaf bread from stores around me are running $3 for low end white - $6 for bakery multi-grain. At $160 purchase you'll have to bake 120 loaves to break even. At 2 loaves a week thats about a 1 year payback.I've had worse investments.

Very disappointed
For this to be the more expensive option, the on switch is in a very awkward area despite the applicable safety feature. The directions that came with the device is not specific to the device itself. I am not happy with this purchase at all. The device even began to smoke when I tried it out.

Received USED machine and it won't work!!!
Shame on me, I passed the 30 day return window before I tried this grinder. Even though I paid full price for a brand new machine this one clearly looks used (scratches on the lid, sticker peeling off, replacement parts very worn). Worst of all is that IT WILL NOT TURN ON. No grinding, no indicator light. So I thought maybe it was the fuse but when I tried to replace the fuse, following the instructions, there was no mechanism to replace, and the fuse cover fell inside the machine and I can't get it out. The machine looks well made and there are a lot of great reviews so just don't do what I did and wait too long to check it out. I am very very disappointed.

Blender that pulerizes dry and hard plant materials
This is a well designed device that is powerful and convenient to use. The whole device sits sturdily on a workbench.. The blades pulverizes dry plant materials efficiently, the lock mechanism prevents accidents, and the flip design makes it very convenient to remove finished product. The noise level is appropriate for such devices.Overall, this is a good choice if you need to pulverize dry and hard plant material such as grains and herbs.

Powerful and quick
The Insir Grain Grinder Mill Stainless Steel Electric Grain Mill did a perfect job on the organic dried corn that we did not want to put in our stone grinder. The texture was just right for corn bread and tortillas. My husband runs it as I don't like loud noise. He also tried Organic Spelt and Organic Rye. They did not get as fine as he likes for his bread even at 40 seconds. He likes a very fine flour. Overall we are very pleased, it did what we wanted it to and we will experiment further with seeds and nuts in the future.
