Smartphone Aircraft Audio Cable

This was an invaluable tool to help me learn and rehearse procedures in the aircraft. I have used it over a dozen times and it's worked flawlessly each time. All you have to do is hook up one of the your plugs in this audio cable and hook up this audio cable into the speaker jack. Also, use the small headphone plug from the audio cable and stick it into the headphone jack on your phone or recorder (don't forget to press the record button). The sound is crystal clear. This audio cable is worth its weight in gold and I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Does not work with Insta 360 X3.Returning for another that has only 3 contacts on the 3.5 pin, as opposed to the 4 contacts this model has.Pictured is a 3.5 (3 contact) pin from a wireless mic that does work with my 360, and this cables 3.5 (4 contact) that doesnt work.

I was worried from some of the reviews so I bought 2nd pair, in case I got a "dud" but they seem well made and worked as expected. it has been invaluable to review the cockpit recordings from my flight instruction sessions. I find smooth radio work to be the hardest part of pilot training and this adapter has made such a difference in my fluency! I can rewind and playback over and over until I can write down all "calls" precisely for memorization. It has been a huge help. I gave my second set to my instructor to let his other students use as I am sure this would be of great service to any learner.

Super easy and provides decent audio for in-flight videos... however, I have yet to figure out how to control the volume on my videos 😂 it's really loud, maybe I should turn the plane's radio volume down? Idk. Radio sounds good in my headset and that's what's important, the vlogging is not a priority when you're 5000 feet up

Waste of money. This doesn’t record any atc sound and my voice. When I am recording only the sound of the engine can be heard.

Works great to record audio with. You just need to get one of those aux cord adapters for your phone.

I ordered this cable to record audio on my insta360 x3 while flying. Turns out this is not the cable that is needed for that which is the reason for my 3 star review. The cable itself is great, just be aware that if you are planning to record audio to anything other than a smartphone, you need the Digital Aircraft Audio Recording Cable. Ideally the seller updates this listing to include that information somewhere so people don't mistakingly order the wrong cable.

This cable works exactly the way I expected it to. The audio quality is very good. and the cable seems very well built. Even though it is called the iPhone cable, it also works great on my Samsung Galaxy S3.It isn't a 5 star product due to the high price ($50 as of writing).
