Great Product - Quality materials, easy to use, comfortable
I've had problems with my right ear since I was a child - including eardrum repair surgery done twice. For the past 20 years I’ve been an event/nightlife photographer in San Francisco, I work 3-4 nights/per week in venues with loud amplified music. Due to aging, rock concerts, living in cities, etc. I had lost well over 50% hearing on the right ear and have slight hearing loss this year. In February this year I underwent a more serious middle ear surgery (ossicular chain reconstruction) where the surgeons implanted a tiny titanium chip - making me a cyborg, and a very happy one at that. My hearing tests show that I have regained all that I had lost, so back to "normal". Amazing how much better life is when you can actually hear properly. I absolutely hated to always miss half the conversation. The doctors and health-care providers advised me to avoid prolonged exposure to loud music, noises such as jackhammers and sirens (common in SF) and to people shouting in my ear over the music to be heard. They also advised me to wear earplugs. As soon as I had healed I wore the standard foam type that they give out free or cheap at many clubs. They are better than nothing, but not comfortable and seems like they pop out after a few hours.I upgraded to these ear plugs on the recommendation of friends who are DJs and musicians, my surgeons and nurses also said that this is a good way to protect the hearing that I have left. So glad that I did - these earplugs are quality made, easy to put in and take out, they work wonderfully. They reduce the ambient noise especially at the high and low levels while allowing conversation without shouting. And they are comfortable! Which means I got in the habit of wearing them and keep them in until I leave the event. They come with a metal container and clip. I have two sets, one for my camera equipment bag and the other for the daypack I carry when doing urban hunting and gathering. And for the money, it's a five-star value. None of the other varieties of earplugs sold at drugstores are as good. My DJ friend says his are even more comfortable than a custom-made pair that cost 3x more.amazon prime got them to me next day free. Thanks!

Great sound reduction - a little annoying to clean
I bought these for motorcycle riding to kill some of the airflow sound through my helmet. These things are super comfortable and I can't even tell they're in. The noise reduction is great but not too much to where I can't hear the bike sufficiently. I also use a comm device in my helmet to talk to other riders and listen to music and I have no issues hearing them. The only downside to these plugs is cleaning them is kind of a pain. You're not supposed to get the filters wet so they can't just be run under water so I typically just soap up my hands and rub them clean. On the bright side they do flip inside out so I can stand them up to dry.Overall I'd definitely recommend these bad boys, at least from a motorcycle riding perspective. If these were to have removable filters similar to Mack's for easier cleaning, they'd be perfect.

Noise Isolating Earplugs
I've only owned these earplugs for about a week but I've already been putting them to good useI'm the type of person who has very poor tolerance to loud background noise, the most grating of which is the sound of people talking and laughing. With these earplugs, all background noise is significantly reduced but is still present, just at a level that doesn't bother you as much. After just a few minutes of use, you forget how loud and obstrusive background noise is - until you pull them out and realize just how noisy everything is. I haven't tried these out in a club/concert environment yet, but I'm sure that the music would still be very loud with these earplugs in, just not at levels that would damage your hearing. I've found that normal conversation at room level to be somewhat difficult to hear with these plugged in. A potential side effect of this is that you may subconsciously speak louder than you normally would while using the earplugs to compensate for the lower volume. In terms of comfort, I do have a slight bit of trouble getting these plugs to comfortably stay in my ears although that might just be me. If the earplugs aren't deep enough within the ear canal, I can actively hear changes in background volume as I open my mouth/move my jaw which can be somewhat annoying. All in all, these earplugs do the job for a reasonable price, and they even come with a metal carrying case attached to a carabiner for easy transport. I was uncertain if I would be able to make use of them at the time of purchase, but I've quickly come to learn that these earplugs hold a valuable place in my life. I'll be taking them with me anytime I leave the house.PS. The one time I tried using these earplugs as a sleeping aid when there was very little/no ambient noise, I could literally hear my own heartbeat after a few minutes so I don't recommend them for that.

Yaaay, these guys are now on Amazon **but beware copy-cat brands!**
When I got to know Vital HD it was a tiny and totally underground product with a cult following of mainly just audio nerds, entertainment types, and other people ‘in the know’. Actually, these ear plugs weren’t even available to the public when I got my first pair.Fun fact: A DJ duo started this as a passion project because they got fed up with losing their expensive custom ear plugs. When they finally found a kick-a** alternative, the secret got out pretty quickly in the Bay Area and LA music scene. Oh, and the only way to buy was to get on the email list for their next shipment (primitive or what, ahahah!) BTW, I’m extremely pleased to see they’ve kept the price reasonable. Hope it stays that way.Just don’t confuse these ear plugs with any of the overseas imitation brands. I was shocked at how many ear plugs on Amazon are trying to look similar. So yeah, superb sound quality (and this is not hyperbole) good protection, and smooth as silk in the ears. So stoked I can buy them easily now! Recommending to all my DJ friends. Plus, much of my Christmas shopping is now done, in July :D
