I got a glass straw because I don't want to use plastic in my food/drink items anymore for health concerns. I was hoping replacing the silicone straw that came with my silicone tumbler would help take the weird taste out of my water. I also don't really like the squishy texture of silicone straws.This glass straw works perfectly. It successfully cut down on the silicone taste. Because it fits tightly in the silicone lid, there's no sliding or potential for it to fall out. I've knocked the tumbler over several times and the glass has knocked against a few things, but it hasn't fallen out, chipped, or broken. I've hit it against my teeth a couple times too, but it doesn't happen often and it hasn't caused any damage. I simply use a straw cleaner on it and it's a breeze to clean.Occasionally I notice it's harder to drink through the straw and I've discovered this happens when the straw hits right up against the bottom of the tumbler, so I just pull it up a bit and it fixes the problem. I had this problem with the silicone straw too, so it's not because of the glass.

These are great. The customer service is EXCELLENT. I love having these. They have totally enhanced the quality of my life. They're easy to clean and look fabulous. People ask me about them all the time.One quick suggestion to Hummingbird. I really like the brush that came with the straw. It cleans well and is the perfect size for the straw. The other day however, I had a lemon seed get stuck in the straw but it was in there tightly enough that when I tried to push it through with the included brush, it just pushed it as far as the brush would push it and then remained stuck. I know it sounds minor and it totally is. But I did have to wait for the seed to dry out (it had to mold first :( yikes) and then fall out like a week later. Maybe theres something you could include thats the full length of the straw. If I'm the only one who had this problem just ignore me. I'm just a friendly neightborhood perfectionist. lol. Buy these!!! The'yre AWESOME!

I love that it's glass and it's the pyrex kind of glass. I know it will last a long time and it won't chip. I had given up straws a long time ago, especially seeing what they do to sea animals, but I was tired of coffee staining my teeth. This is a great solution. I love the rounded edges of the straw and that it's see through. I'm getting a second one in a different color.

Super fast delivery and great customer service! My order of two glass straws arrived carefully and securely packaged. They are made of thick, strong, Pyrex type glass with edges that are smooth and rounded. I originally ordered Hummingbird straws because they are handmade in the USA and the price was right, but to be honest I would order Hummingbird again at twice the price due to their quality and workmanship. Once you drink from a glass straw--especially a well-made, beautiful glass straw like Hummingbird--you will never go back to plastic. Everything just tastes better! And what an elegant way to stay hydrated! Although a quick wash with hot soapy water is usually enough to keep them clean, the included brush keeps them sparkling should you use them for milk, juice or smoothies.

Really heavy duty - which I am glad! I am guessing this will make it more difficult to chip or break. Only issue... I measured my drinking vessel to make sure it would fit the mm size as stated. The tolerance was tight in the opening and the straw was slightly bigger than I anticipated.Could have been my measuring instrument. I had to make a slight adjustment in the container lid. Not a big deal for me. I like having a cleaning brush which will fit inside straw to make sure the glass stays clean! Thanks Hummingbird!

I am a devoted straw user, and have been looking for an alternative to the plastic ones from the grocery store. I am happy to find Hummingbird glass straws. I had never given too much thought to my plastic straws clogging landfills or being harmful to me. I just hated that they were not tall enough for most of my insulated cups. These glass straws arrived nicely packaged, and with the promised brush for cleaning. I have had them less than 24 hours and am already enjoying my purchase. I am also happily surprised to get an email from the Hummingbird company thanking me for my purchase and hoping I enjoy their product.
