Great stories and even better recipes. I received this as a gift, and enjoyed every page. I've given it as a gift at least 3 times since then. It features dive bars, high-end cocktail bars, and everything in between. Be sure to check out the Assassin's Handbook recipe.

Crushed this book in a week and couldn't get enough of the stories. Great concept and well written with exceptional ties to drinks, stories, music, and the overall fun of working in a bar.

Mr. Parsons is a very engaging writer - I also very much enjoyed his book about bitters and have made several of the recipes with great success!

A fun, informative, and at times cerebral book. Great recipes and stories, and a thoughtful exploration of what cocktail is most important to a laundry list of leading bartenders. I find the exploration of this topic fascinating and important.

We’ll done tour of some great cocktail bars in the USA coupled with some history, people watching, and pleasant and intriguing variations on classic and new drinks with recipes to support. The Q&A with the featured players is also interesting and rewarding. This makes you want to stay till closing time at any of your favorite bars. If only there was a second book with bars here in Texas.

I thought I was buying a brand new book. The book seems like it's new until you see the back cover. It's marked up with greasy fingerprints and rough smudges.

This is a beautifully written and photographed book with great stories about each bar and their bartenders. I’ve now been to several of the bars and the reality lives up to the hype.

The book content is very interesting. If you are into making original, posh cocktails this book is one to have. I returned mine because of printing flaws ( pages weren’t even, like they were moist)
