Complete Book of Drawing Projects Step by Step Kindle Edition

I have many drawing books, but since I have this one, I use it more than the others, specially with my art students, because I am an art teacher in high schools.

Good book

USED BOOK SOLD AS NEW, ALSO BOOK COULDN'T TEACH ANYONE HOW TO DRAW.

This book could be really good if it had better instruction. There are some great pictures to draw but not enough information for the student to draw them successfully.For instance; there is a drawing of a bicycle. It is pointed out in the instructions that the ellipses for the two wheels are different and that care should be taken to get them right. But there is absolutely zero instruction on just how to do this. Unfortunately, "Draw this carefully" is not instruction at all.Each of the pictures in the book starts with a laying in of the basic shapes. In the next step these are refined. Then a mid tone is applied to most of the picture. The final steps are to deepen these tones.It is possible to produce some pleasing drawings with this book but I don't think the aspiring artist will learn a whole lot simply because the author doesn't offer a lot of advice.

This is not a book for a neophyte. While I think this is great for a person with a tad bit of experience, this makes drawing appear more complicated than it really is. It did not really teach me in a way that would hold to memory. I was just copying what I saw. It probably works for others...just not for me.

I couldn't see some of the illustrations on my kindle because they were too light. If you want a kindle version of this book then get "The Artist's Complete Book of Drawing Projects Step-by-Step" by the same author. It is nearly the same book but easier to see.

I had trouble seeing pictures on the kindle. Also the drawing instructions we're kinda basic and repeative..

Cant see pictures

I am now halfway reading and practicing this book and have to admit that my drawing skills did improve a lot. It does take some time learning to handle a pencil fluiantly, but when you are determined and not give up, you will become a good drawer. In al a great book with many examples to practice. I recommend this book to everyone.

I initially borrowed this book from my library believing that I couldn't draw anything. I love that each drawing is broken down into 5 steps and I now grasp how to build a picture from basic outline through to detailing and then shading. A great book and I had to get my own copy so I can bring it out whenever the mood takes me. A great introduction to sketching for the complete novice.

Excellent step by step drawing book which I am really enjoying. Managing to produce what I think are good drawings. Using the book in kindle form, a good idea is to enlarge each picture (which I do on my iPad) to aid each step in the process.
