An awesome sheath for my 8.25inch Yoshihiro Gyuto
This saya has been great for protecting my Yoshihiro VG10 16 Layers Hammered Damascus Gyuto Japanese Chefs Knife 8.25 in (Western style Mahogany Handle). It is a nice dark black finish that definitely stands out compared to other saya's. I purchased the 8.25 inch version and it perfectly covered my 8.25in Yoshihiro Gyuto. I have been using it for a while in my kitchen and it has held up just fine. It is plenty durable enough to function as protection for higher end knives. The knife has about a quarter of an inch of moving space within the saya. So it is not too tight on the blade, but it wont move around a whole lot either.Dimensions can be seen in the photos I have uploaded. I have also uploaded my knife inside of the saya so you can see how it fits on the knife it is made for.Pros:*Great fit*Great protection*Stands out compared to other sheathsCons:*NoneAdditional Considerations:Make sure you order the right size. Additionally, I have heard of 8.25inch knives not fitting in 8.25inch saya's. Sometimes the geometry just isn't the right fit. Make sure you take that stuff into account and verify that the knife will fit in the saya before you buy.Overall: 5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 starsIf you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Quality Magnolia Shealth
First, I've never used a wooden knife shealth, before now. But, I found a unique fishing knife and was looking for something that was equally adaptable at home and in the field. This Yoshihiro sheath was my first choice, because it's light weight and allow me to neck carry safely, comfortably, and protects my knife when at home. This sheath has terrific quality construction and should give a long service life with care. A great option for anyone with similar needs.

Very high quality, fits perfectly.
I have had a Kurosaki Yu, Shizuku, 210mm gyuto, for several months; it did not come with a saya. I saw this one on Amazon and the price/free shipping were excellent so i ordered one. I am very happy with it: high quality, perfect fit, and i actually prefer the plastic pin (it doesn't swell with humidity). (I also have a Kato Yoshimi, 165mm bunka, with a very similar profile, that this saya fits as well (extra room at the tip), so i will most likely order a second one... ***however your experience may not be the same: i mention this in the hope that it helps.***)

Durable Cover Blade with Aesthetic Appeal
Bought this item to supplement the "Misono UX10 Gyutou 8.2" (21cm) - Right" knife (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000XSX8IA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).The hole that comes with this item initially does not support this knife - however, I was able to reach out to [email protected] describing the situation with supporting pictures for them (with regular feedback). They took the item and prepared a slight adjustment (a few cm) and returned it quickly, so it was a straightforward process all around.Post-adjustment, the knife fits as well as it did previously, now including the extra stopper. It looks like a good complement for this knife from the design perspective, and would be a good pairing if you're looking for an appropriate cover for the Misono.

Works for Ashi Hamono Ginga and Tojiro DP 240mm gyutos
The 240mm (9.5 inch) magnolia saya fit my Ashi Hamono Ginga white #2 gyuto (same basic geometry as a Gesshin Ginga 240mm gyuto) as well as my Tojiro DP 240mm gyuto. There is quite a bit of play within the saya on the Ashi Ginga, slightly less with the Tojiro DP. Drilling a better-placed saya pin hole will help the fit on the Ashi Ginga. I expect this lack of gentle snugness with a non-custom saya. There are several ways to remedy a loose saya if this worries you. Just do a web search. Regardless, it is better than starting with a saya far too tight and damaging your blade edge. The saya pin is made from plastic, not wood. This is the only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, The Yoshihiro saya provides good quality traditional gyuto blade protection at a really good price. Check your knife measurements before purchasing. If you need a saya and your knife is within Yoshihiro's parameters, this saya a great option.

great customer service and they stand behind their product
arrived on time works and fit just fine for my gyuto knife but somehow its shrunk so its very hard to sheathe my knife and its split into 2 , just wasted of money, its not like the other one for my yaniba knife that i bought from the store.Updatedthis company yoshihiro customer service is very good, after I reviewed my experience with the product they reached out to me and offer me a solution with the problem, they stand behind their product so they will send me the replacement free of charge. not many company will do like they did so for sure I will not hesitated to buy from this company again in the future. So I give them 5 star.

9.4 lacquered is iffy vs regular version
The original one is better overall and as is. The lacquered one was good on the 8.2 inch’s fit but when it comes to the 9.4 inches it’s not the best. I’ve actually had to swap the 9.4 inches one. The first one had the bolt fitting a bit off and exchanged it for a different one. I received the new order. 2nd time, the hole placement was right but the fitting was too tight and the plastic bolt can’t be taken out by yourself via sheer human might. I have to use a tool to take out the plastic bolt/holder.
