Magnum Target 5" Tall IDPA NRA Knock-Over Shooting Targets - 3/8" AR500 Steel - 18pc Rifle Target Set

Ok there were not any detailed reviews so I just ordered and took a chance as I am always interested in adding targets to our little range out at our country place. The plates do look pretty heavy duty. The welds are not perfect but look decent considering. The edges were a little rough but very reasonable and no edges I felt would cut anyone. The first issue is the size of the base. The bases are very small and in a wind if you don't have perfectly flat ground... they can blow over. I sure wish they had made the base a little larger. Our shooting place is usually pretty windy. I am going to have to come up with a way to help support the base for use in the wind. I was thinking maybe glue them to a 2" square piece of scrap lumber. That would work much better and also have the added bonus of raising them up off the ground a bit so you can seem better if the grass is grown up. I will update this review once I have tested my modification to the base. Also, will report back once I have shot some full metal jacketed 9mm at them. As of now... just using 22lr which worked fine but is not really a test of the steel hardness.

Great, and extremely tiny rifle targets when placed at the recommended minimum distance (or fun falling pistol targets up close). Quite a novelty. It's great that 18 are included in the package. I feel like I'm shooting the steel target equivalent of oversized green army men. Remember, aim small-miss small! My first package was lost by USPS, once Amazon told me the package was probably lost, I alerted the Seller, and a new tracking number for a replacement package was immediately provided. My second package arrived quickly via USPS but the 18x 3/8" targets were shipped in a bubble envelope which arrived "damaged" because the steel targets had ruptured the envelope in transit. USPS threw some extra tape and some "damaged" stickers around the envelope and none of the targets were harmed in transit. Mine arrived unpainted, but it's easy to paint them anyway, so I don't mind as long as that saves me some money on the front end. We all have to repaint targets after we shoot them anyway to keep the rust off so no big deal.

These knockdowns are very nice, well made and a good value. No issues with them at all. Solid made.

Great product at a good price. A little sanding could have been done, but that doesn’t keep me from giving it 5 stars.

I spray these targets with white primer each range day. We place these little knockdown targets up on a hill and my daughter and I use our .22 rifles to knock them down. When hit with a .22, they have a nice audible ring and they go flying. Great fun! They are well built and heavy. My guess is that they will last a few lifetimes.
