very small - saw a similar item in WalMart for less money - disappointed

I got this for my zachy. he's 6 and diagnosed with adhd and other developmental issues. i'd been looking for a fidget toy that he can't totally destroy in 5minutes. so when i saw this, i thought i'd give it a try.the Tangle is actually about 18pcs of shiney metallic colored (i don't think it's actually metal material, i think its a hard, durable plastic???) hooked together. balled up, it fits in the palm of your hand. the peices come apart and snap together in a fairly simplistic way, and i thought, "oh great, he's gonna have all the peices lost by the end of the day"...but actually, they don't come apart as easily as you'd think. zach liked to unsnap it at one section and twirl it around...they hold together pretty strongly b/c he was pretty rough with it. it is quite fun to play with. i couldn't stop myself from wrapping it around my own fingers at one point. his brother, riley, kept trying to get it from him too.it's a simple little trinket, no bells and whistles, but it does keep his hands busy. one of the main reasons i needed to find him a suitable fidget toy, was because i can't take zach anywhere without his hands having to tough EVERYTHING. when we go in stores, i have to direct him to put his hands in his pockets for fear he'll break something. also, i can't begin to count the number of things in my house i've walked in on him completely destroying for no good reason except his hands were bored. this weekend, with the Tangle, everytime i walked into a room, he had it in his hands. We took it to the thanksgiving parade yesterday, and with all the activity going on there, this kept him quite and focused.i dont think we'll let him take it to school because of his preferred way to play with it (spinning it around, he could hurt somebody!) but i will certainly make sure its within arms reach most other days. probably buy another for backup.

I wanted to use it to help me stop biting my nails since it helps my friend with hers. Sadly its not helping me but I still enjoy it or rather my cat does.

What I liked: It's pretty easy to fidget with and looks somewhat sleek. It's easy to carry with you yet not so small that it's annoying to use. It doesn't come apart easily (so I don't have to "be careful with it").What I didn't like: It tends to make somewhat quiet clacking noises (from hitting itself), at least the way I use it. It's also still a bit more rigid than I imagined; if you put it into a shape and let it dangle from your fingers it will likely keep shape.Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I just wish it didn't clack quite so much, but it's only really noticeable if it's already quiet.

My kid fidgets a lot when trying to do school. This has helped immensely. He says it helps him think. Now he doesn't pace around whilst doing schoolwork.

I have dermatillomania, and I got this as a way to keep my hands busy to avoid picking at my skin. I find it works for about 30 minutes, and then I just find myself picking at my skin again, now while holding the tangle toy. Still, 30 minutes is better than 0 minutes.

OK product, nothing to rave about.
