Bust A Cap Glass Breaking Caps

I've only had to bust a window out a few times in my life, but every time it was something that needed to happen NOW. If you don't carry a spring loaded center punch, even a blunt hammer can bounce off a window. You need something pointy and HARD - this fits.There's a pointed steel insert in the aluminum tailcap. This product is for the 20X series (old model) flashlight with aluminum body. It got here very fast and first installation gave me my only problem.The flashlight wouldn't light up.Why?Because the body of the flashlight is used as a conductor - the new tailcap was totally painted (anodized?) and needed to be scraped with a steel wire brush to get the paint off of the threads to complete the circuit - then it worked like magic.

I purchased this for my Streamlight SL20 led that I was converting to a SL20x with tera-lux led upgrade. The problem is that the SL20 led has a reverse spring system for the battery that is connected to the switch. This cap will not allow the battery to contact the tail cap without adding a tail cap spring. Most other online vendors include the spring, Amazon does not. Great product, just keep in mind for Streamlight you may have to purchase and use the tail cap spring if your model did not come with one originally.

I have the DS stinger LED. A 350 lumen light. Adding this tail cap you will sacrifice the tail cap switch. The cap fits on perfectly a though it looks a little odd. But I got over it. I am a Paramedic and use this flash light often and put it in the back pocket of my 5.11 EMS pants. When I had the DS the light would some times go on by accident. Putting on a solid and functional tail cap solved the problem. The tail cap brakes glass as described very well. I have also used it as a self defense tool in the line of duty.

This product works great. I had to use it today to break a window to give aid to someone in a motor vehicle crash. The window broke on the first try.

Fit perfectly. Would be nice if it had a breathing hole like the original cap. I still like the way it looks.

While another officer tried to break the passenger window with his flashlight I used a window breaker to blow the driver's window and yank him out. We were all sold. This puts one on a tool you have in your hand most of the night. Can't lose for $12. Don't forget to remove the O ring from your old cap and put it on this one.

Great addition to my Maglite. If you are wondering about the O-ring, just use the one from your old cap.

The cap upon inspection appears to be smaller than it actually is. It's a bit smaller than the stock cap, but fits perfectly. Awesome item!

So I haven't had to use this in the intended function yet, but I'm confident it will work when needed. Easy install with the help of an o-ring between the glass lens and the bezel. Be sure to stop by the hardware store to pick one up, or your lens will rattle.
